If you get a chance to attend one, it is a LOT of fun!!!

Be sure to check out zdad & LaraK's trip reports. I'm sure they will be covering the gathering soon, also!

I'm going to add to the report today....with my Grand Focker Meet report (although I liked the old title of the meet better!;) )

Oh my gosh Renee, I love the pictures of Lindsey on the Jungle Cruise! She looks like she did a fabulous job!!!! Also, I like your new ears !!! The Cm knew you were having hearing problems after meeting Dakota on the Wishes Cruise!:lmao:

She really had a blast! She complains sometimes because everyone thinks she's younger than she really is. But I told her she might not have been chosen as guest skipper if he had known she was nearly 15!

I was going to post an update tonight, but I'm still in deep shock over Melinda getting voted off of American Idol.

I'll just post this one picture of Lindsay. She got these pirate Mickey ears earlier in the week at World of Disney. We saw these ears in nearly every store we went to, but everyone, including cast members, wanted to know where we got them, because they had never seen any like them.

She wore them all day on our last day and got lots of compliments.

In the picture, I guess she thinking that this is our last day, and is feeling kinda sad.

Hmmm. She definitely has the look of pre-PDD..

:sad1: (Post Disney Depression) :sad1:

We all know how that feels! :grouphug:

Day 6, Part 2

After the DIS Gathering, we headed to Splash Mountain for a ride. I don’t think the hopping Brer Rabbit was working last year (right before you get to the Laughing Place). This year is the first time I remember seeing it. I thought maybe it was just me, but Lindsay said she didn’t remember it, either. I think Lindsay’s favorite part of the ride is the FSU weasel, or gopher, or whatever he is.

We ate lunch at Pecos Bill’s and decided to go to Epcot for a little while because we still hadn’t ridden Soarin’.

Lindsay wanted me to take this picture on the way out. Can you guess why? Believe it or not, she plays tuba in the marching band. There were a couple of football games that were pretty windy, and I was afraid she was going to blow away.

We rode the monorail to Epcot. My camera’s memory stick was almost full, so I took it by the Camera Center to have the pictures transferred to CD. I had taken so many pictures that it took two CDs. We went to The Land and got fast passes for Soarin’. The return time was 4:55, so it looked like we would be spending the afternoon at Epcot.

We had both been trying to work up the nerve to ride Mission: Space and finally decided to do it. We decided to do Orange Team. I’m not a big fan of spinning, but if I was going to ride, I wanted to get the whole experience. Lindsay decided at the last minute not to ride. I’m really glad I rode it. It’s not something I could ride over and over, but I did enjoy it. Then Lindsay and I rode on the Green Team, and I was surprised. It was almost as good as the more intense version.

After that, Lindsay got what I guess you could call a mini-Dream. She got in line to buy a Mickey ice cream sandwich, and the CM told her if she could answer a Disney trivia question, she would get it for free. It was an easy question (what was the monkey’s name in Lion King), so she got a free ice cream sandwich. Not a night in the castle, but a special moment just the same (I think it was those pirate ears again).

We strolled around World Showcase.

When we made it back around, we got some of those awesome Chicken McNuggets. Remember the ones I was talking about at the first of my report that were so awesome last year, because we were about to starve? They were still just as good this year.

We went to see Turtle Talk then it was finally time for our ride on Soarin’. This is such a relaxing ride. On our way out of the park, we rode Spaceship Earth one last time. This has become one of our new favorite rides.

We rode the bus to WL and went to our room to change clothes. No time to rest, this is our last day!

Since I am nearing the end of my report :sad1: , I thought I would post one of my favorite pictures from our first trip, in 1997.

Renee-
I'm so enjoying your report and hate to see it come to an end! That picture of Lindsay back in 1997 is ADORABLE!

Yes, I'm having a hard time dealing with Melinda being voted off too! I was sure that she was going to win. She's the best singer on the show.

Hi Renee,
I just sat and read your entire TR. Good stuff! :thumbsup2 Loved the Grand Focker Meeting! Can't wait until ours in August! :goodvibes

What a wonderful mother/daughter trip! I hope someday to hit the World with just my DD someday! ;)

Oh, and the Wishes photos were awesome!!! :cool1:

RE: The chicken nuggets:

My Irish grandmother always used to say that hunger was the best sauce! ;)

What gorgeous weather you had that day, the sky was so blue! Ice cream is good, but FREE ice cream is fabulous!!

Looking forward to your next chapter...

Kathy

I hate to see my report come to an end, too. I may have to start on a pre-trip report for my next trip (whenever that may be)!

Thanks for the compliment on the picture. When Lindsay saw Tigger she started running to him and he stooped down and opened his arms and she just flew into them. That was when the characters just walked around.

Yeah, I really wanted Melinda in the finals. I got my tickets today for the AI tour (July 13 in Little Rock). I can't wait!

Hi! Thanks for reading my report and checking in! I'm glad you liked the Wishes pictures. I will be posting a couple more in my next installment.

The weather was beautiful that day (and all week)! It was about the hottest day we had while we were there, but it was still only in the mid 80's. In the picture of Lindsay in front of Splash Mountain, the sky looks almost turquoise.

Loved the latest report as always :)

Thank you!!

Renee- I am soo sad to see your trip report come to an end also!!! I love the picture of Lindsey with Tigger! It is soo cute! I love looking back at the pictures of our children from our previous trip! They grow soo quickly!

Blessings,
Kim

PS We were all in shock about Melinda also!!!! Have fun at the concert!

I can't believe it!!! I have already tentatively scheduled the dates for our next trip! Lindsay said that she wanted to be at WDW on her 16th birthday, so right now our tentative dates are June 11-19, 2008 (her birthday is the 13th). That gives me more than a whole year to plan. I will go absolutely crazy!!
