How long ago were the rooms at WL renovated? Are they in good shape? The last time I stayed there was in 1996, and we fell in love with the resort! We were scheduled to stay there over New Years, but opted for the Contemporary for transportation reasons (monorail for use on NYE).

I'm thinking about reserving two standard view rooms. We'll need connecting rooms, non-smoking rooms, and atleast one of the rooms to have 2 queen size beds. Is this possible? What types of views are available with standard rooms? Anything interesting? How many standard rooms are there, and how many connect? What type of locations are they in? Anything specific to request? What's the chance for some pixie dust to bring an upgrade?

Can I get nightly turndown service for my rooms?

Do they have a lot of boat service in the summer season? Where all can I take the boat to? Last time I stayed there it just did the WL-MK route.

How late is Roaring Forks open? Do they have refillable mugs? What time does Whispering Canyon serve lunch till?

Thanks!!!

Hi! :)

All of the rooms I've seen at WL are still in great shape. Not sure when they were last renovated, but they look good!

Personally, I prefer the Woods view room- there isnt a lot of difference between that and a standard view, and you get a view of, well, the woods ;) I also had some water and a *slight* castle view with mine. Standard views generally face the parking lot, and I'm not really sure what else. I guess this comes down to how much time you plan to spend on your balcony! :) As far as I know, rooms are available with either two queen beds, or one queen and one bunk bed. Be sure to note your preference :)

Boats typically run on two circuts,
One goes to WL, Fort Wilderness, and MK
The other is between WL, Fort Wilderness, and the Contemporary. (Correct me on this if I'm wrong, guys?)

Roaring Forks is open until midnight in the summer, I believe. It may close earlier during off peak times. (I wish I could remember exact times! They may be on the menu at www.wdwig.com)
Refillable mugs are available in 2 different sizes, and are $8.99. (I think! LOL, memory fading in my old age ;) ) Sandwiches, burgers, pizza, etc. are available from around 11 on to closing time, and they have certain daily specials as well :)

I hope I covered most of your questions!

Our family just stayed at the WL in November. I believe that they have just finished refurbishing the rooms there. Ours was in great shape. Our room was a preferred view- we looked out into the main courtyard overlooking the pool/ It was beautiful....... and very relaxing! It's the first time we stayed there and it is now my favorite WDW resort ! You'll love it- it's so serene!

Hi California Dreaming!

We, too, fell in love with the Wilderness Lodge years ago, and have returned several times since. We just returned from a visit last month, and we were pleasantly surprised to see that the room were in wonderful condition. They had obviously had a soft rehab very recently. Here are some little details that might help.

We have stayed in the "bears face" on three visits and love these prefered rooms. We had a direct view of the electrical water pageant each night and the geyser. We once had a woodsview room, with a "slight" view of the GF. The rooms were identical, but I must say, I missed the lake view and somehow it really did make a difference. The little touches are important to me. By the way, ours was a connecting room.

The lobby rooms are definitely the "noisiest" of the rooms, and we actually like that. You can hear the bell clanging and fun at the Whispering Canyon Cafe until closing. Fun, but someone with little ones trying to sleep may prefer the quieter wing rooms.

The boats run to the MK and to the Contemporary Resort. We love the CR boat to get to breakfast at the monorail resorts in the early morning. This boat begins running at 7:30 am. The MK boat begins running about 15 min. before the park opens, I believe.

The Roaring Fork is open late. I believe it was open until midnight when we were there. The refillable mugs come in two sizes and I feel are the best offered anywhere in WDW. We return each year with ours packed in our bags :D

The CM's are just the BEST here, we believe. It is a very relaxed resort. We often spend a rainy afternoon in one of the cozy alcoves.

If you have any other questions, Cali, feel free to e mail us. We'd be happy to help. We love this resort! :)

Nicki
