Is it possible to stay at the deluxe resorts with a family of 5? 3 kids and 2 adults. We have always liked the WL, especially at the holidays. I know it will be a bit more money, but compared to the AsMu FS rate of about 355 vs 455, that's not that much more....

I think this rate is for the suite, but do you have to have the CS too?

Well.... 14, 15 and 9 mo. Then the other family.... 10, 8 and 6.

I just looked up the prices and 700 or so per night is not in our budget.... oh well... I guess I saw the price wrong....

I know you can stay at CR, Beach/Yacht Club, Grand Flo, Boardwalk, and Poly in a regular room with a family of five.

I don't know about the others.

I saw some prices and contempory is pretty nicely priced and max is 5 for a standard room. And on the monorail line.....

I always thought that WL was the cheapest deluxe resort....

Not for a family of five. The cheapest deluxe for a family of five is the Yacht/Beach Clubs.

WL and AKL are the cheapest deluxe, but if you have a family of 5 I'd say your best value would be Beach Club

For the price you just quoted was that for a villa. We pay around that for a
2 bedroom villa at the Boardwalk. With your family you would fit into any deluxe room since one is under three. The other family is the one with more limited options. If you want to try for villas, it would be cheaper to look into renting points from a DVC owner.

The CR wing rooms are generally a pretty good value, and they hold 5. Our 1st stay was in the now gone North wing. The only drawback is you're low to the ground so you don't have the high views.

For a family of 5 with one being an infant, you can stay in any room on property. For a family with 3 children over the age of 3, WL rooms will not hold more than 4 guests. Even the 1 bdrm villas at WL only sleep 4, so it would have to be a 2 bedroom.

Why does Disney make it so hard for a family of 5 to stay? I know I am able to stay almost everyplace, its the other family that I am worried about.

They want to stay at a house/condo off site, but I want to stay onsite based on our younger infant. I would love to stay at the Contempory..... but BC etc.... looks pretty nice too.

The other family with three children (all aged three or older) could fit nicely in the Contemporary Wing Room. Those sleep five with two queen beds and one day bed. The rooms are very large, too, so you don't feel crowded. Plus you are only steps away from the monorail station and you can easily walk to the MK. This category of rooms usually are the least expensive of the deluxe resorts.

If your not able to stay at the Wilderness Lodge because of the limit of guests in their standard rooms then I would look into the Contemporary. You had already planned to stay in the Magic Kingdom Resort area and the Contemporary is as close you can be to the Magic Kingdom, since they are the closest resort to there and the only one with a walkway that goes to it. Besides that their rooms are among the biggest of the Deluxe Resorts and the limit is 5 guests per standard room.

You didn't mention (or I didn't see it mentioned) if you and the other family HAVE to stay at the same resort. If they really want to stay off site, and your family really wants to stay on site, then your family can stay in a regular room at WL since your youngest is still under 3. Its a wonderful resort, and is decently priced if you can get a standard room.

Just a small suggestion.....We've traveled with other families many, many times. At first we'd all try to stay at the same resort, request rooms close to each other, all that. Now we tend to each pick what our family wants and we stay at different resorts quite often. After spending some of our park time with them, and having many meals together, its nice to be able to each go to our own resort for some down time. As much as we love our travel buddies, we also enjoy our own family time while on vacation. We don't feel the need to be with our extended family round the clock on vacation.
