Hi, all. My family and I haven’t been to WDW since 2014 and we are craving a trip this summer to see all the new additions. Our party consists of myself, my husband and our 23 year old son. We are thinking of staying at the WL. Would you be inclined to book two rooms in the hotel building or a two bedroom villa at Copper Creek? If you’ve got any feedback on Copper Creek, I’d love to hear it. Thanks!

Well, it depends on the cost of both options and whether you need the extra amenities (kitchen, laundry) that the villa would offer. Either choice is a good one.

If you want to sleep in two separated areas, you could do that with a 1BR at Copper Creek or Boulder Ridge.

If you don't care, a Standard at the Lodge proper gets you two queens and would be cheaper.

We've stayed in a standard room at WL, a 1-bedroom in Copper Crrek and 2-bedroom in WLV (now Boulder Ridge) and have loved them all. We are also a family of three though our DS is 10. I love having the washer/dryer and kitchen in the villas. You may want to consider a 1-bedroom in CCV. The pullout sofa was quite comfortable and it could save you some money over the options you've listed. If we book WL again, my preference would be CCV, though I wouldn't rule out a deluxe CL if it were available!

DS (23) is tall and has a hard time sleeping on the sofa bed. That’s why I was thinking of the two bedroom unit. I think if I were to reserve two rooms in the hotel, they would be courtyard view. That’s what we had last time and it was beautiful.

In that case, I would price both out and see what the total cost would be. My preference would still be the villa over the 2 rooms for the extra space, w/d and kitchen. Plus you would be guaranteed to be together.

Update: I sat DS down and made him look at every resort with me with pricing. I said we could have a shorter trip in a two bedroom villa or a longer one in a one bedroom. He settled on five nights---about all DH will be able to get off work after spending the weekend with his mom in Clearwater--- in a one bedroom at the Beach Club Villas. I was surprised that he didn't even think of WL as a finalist. The other choices were BLT, which DH rejected as not sufficiently themed and BWV, but we prefer the pool and restaurants at BC.

Enjoy! We love BC villas! So quiet! Love the pool and the walk to EP!! Great choice!

Thanks. We're pretty excited. I haven't been to WDW since '14---I got cancer in '15 but I'm fine now--- so I'm really excited to see what's changed.
