Wilderness Lodge Courtyard view

I am taking my family to WDW in one week! We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge, I am paying for a courtyard view with expectations of a view of Bay lake or the geyser or something in that area, but I have just learned that they have added a few places to that view price range like a view of the Villas pool. Does anyone know anything about this, and what the best way is to ask for the prime views at check-in?

Last year, we too paid for a courtyard view. We got a view of the villa's pool. While it was a lovely view, I do not think it was worth the price.

Ask for a courtyard view of the MAIN courtyard. Have them show you on the map the location of your room before you leave the check-in desk. I think anything in the main area is fine.

B/t/w, the geyser is right next to the kiddie pool. You can't get a view of it w/out getting a view of the whole courtyard.

Hi:

We were at the Wilderness Lodge last week. We checked in on Tuesday the 21st. On the Friday before, I faxed a nice note over to the Lodge explaining that we were checking in on the 21st and could we have a room on an upper level with a view of Bay Lake.

At check in, they had it flagged that we had made the request - and indicated they accomodated our request to the best of their ability. We were in Room 4141 - decent view of the main pool and the lake. We sat on our balcony and watched the Electric Boat Parade. It would have been nice to be one more floor up - I think the view would have been even better on 5.

So I highly suggest a nice fax before you go. I got the Lodge fax number from the Wilderness Lodge home page at Disney.com
