Has anyone stayed on the concierge floor at the wilderness Lodge, and if so what did you think of it. I'm thinking of staying there, with some friends....

we are here at the WL conc right now- we are more than pleased so far, we have stayed at the YC GF BC POLY CONC's and this one is up near the top so far. very relaxed and inviting- not really a kid playing area but the conc seems to want to be very pleasing. they told us our room would have a MK view- it doesnt- but thats ok with us as long as everything else goes smooth. our dd and ds both have bdays while we're here and they got a woody and cindy signed pic from them left in the room when we got back from dinner. we ate at the whispering canyon and it looked like the same food that conc had also.

will keep you informed as the week goes by

thanks

bat4less Enjoy your stay.:) If you run into Jack,Miguel or Steve. Please tell them we said hello. They went above and beyond for us on our Xmas trip. Rm 7119

dclfan22 We enjoyed it very much over Xmas. You could have breakfast and dinner with the food offerings they had each day.
They left snacks out all day. Since the concierge area was an afterthought, it isn't a lounge but utilizes the balcony/walkway area around the 7th floor and has a great view.:) You have to have your room key to reach the 7th floor. The 7th floor concierge rooms have an enclosed balcony. Some people don't like them. We liked the extra privacy. Hope you enjoy. Here are a few pics:

so far we've just met michael and a couple of young ladies- and all have been very nice and jovial. if this place keeps up it might overtake the yc and gf for our favorite- we'll see how the next few days go.

we're in 7118 - the view is of the woods- not very attractive- sice we have about 10 acres of woods out our back door.

Loved your pictures! Did you order the Christmas tree from WDW, or bring it from home?

We had a great time at WL Concierge. The CM's were great. If you needed anything, they were more than willing to help. While we especially enjoyed breakfast, the dinner offerings were good, and the desserts were delicous!

We'll trade you an acre or two of Casino view for an acre or two of woods.;) Ask Michael if he will sing for you. He sings in the Candlelight Processional during the holidays. Hope the rest of your stay goes well.:)

We have always stayed off site, but we are thinking about booking a last minute trip on site in March. What is the concierge level and do you reserve this extra and how much more? From the way everyone talks it sounds worth it.

we asked wl conc for a rate sheet for the park hoppers- we have one ap but do the park hopper for the others- he informed us he didnt have one but the front desk- 7 floors down- has some and we could go down there and get one.

we also asked for cindys ressies- kinda last minute- because we were told wl conc was sold out for our time period-we get here and its definitely not even close to full.

bfast and lunch and snacks arent anything to get excited over- and we dont use them as meals either. just fillers- between meals and after the parks.

tiffani did answer a pretty difficult trivia question that my spouse and i had been arguing over for a week or so-

will let ya know how the rest of the conc goes

gf conc
poly conc
yc conc
bc conc
gf conc
poly conc
yc conc
wl conc
gf conc- next week

well, i just found out that the guy at the WL conc could have checked on ressies at cindys right when i asked him to. i just left the desk and they showed me exactly how easily it was to check immediately. I wish he would have just told me the truth instead of leading me on and having us hope he would get a ressie.

good thing i called the GF CONC because they immediately got us a ressie for the date we asked for- we're heading there for the rest of the week.

so far, the WILDERNESS LODGE CONCIERGE's have not been what we are use to when we stay conc- which is quite often- even when we're not at disney. the food is below poly,yc,bc,gf. they have not done any of the little things that conc's are suppose to do. and for all of those doubters, im not talking about anything out of the ordinary

they had us go down to the lobby to get a brochure of the park hopper pricing

they lied about the cindy ressies

the food is below average on any conc- well below poly and yc

there was no express check in

will let you know how the next few days go

thanks

I'm just curious to know how your stay has went from being the very best to the worst over night. it seems to me that the things you are complaining about are very minor things and could easily be adjusted. just my honest oppion.

Same here
plutospup: Thanks. No that was just our little tree and ornaments that we brought over.

 In response to bat4less. You mentioned that the concierge lied about cindees. But, what you failed to understand that maybe they were in the process of getting you the reservation but could not do it that evening. Wouldn't it be funny if you got two cindees. I have stayed at W.lodge many a times. I have requested Items that took awhile to get but the job got done. In your having to go down to the F/D and get the prices. This could of been for a number of reasons. One- there was only one person at the desk. two- It could be just that they were out of it.
Yes, someone should of said when they get the chance they will get you a price sheet and put it under your door.

The food- Well it would be kind of odd to see a roasted pig on the buffet table, since you are not staying at the poly. The bonus of staying at the Lodge is that you do not have to go outside, down the uncovered sidewalk, to get to the conc building. unlike the Poly. Last time I stayed there we got drenched.

As for the MK view- it is just a request not gtd as we have found out when we stayed there.
At checkin did they offer you a choice of rooms. I noticed you have children with you. If Im not mistaking, 7118 is a bunk bedroom. I bet the Mk view room did not have bunks. I asked the conc host about their food offerings. And she said it was just that.
Continential style Breakfast. Snacks and refreshments. But what I enjoyed the most was the Wine and Cheese offerings. It was great tasting some of the Signature foods that are offered in both the Whisp Canyon and Artist pt.
On our recent visit, they had Mixed Berry Cobbler, what a great dessert. At dinner the next night we ordered two with extra vanilla ice cream. Delicious.

dclfan.. we never said it was the ' best' i said it was going well so far and had a chance to overtake some of the other resorts. as well, i never said it was the worse- although after thinking about it, it seems to be getting there quickly. and as for the ' minor things' that could be fixed- you're right- and why didnt they fix them??

looks to me like a wl conc themselves have posted on this thread!!

and no other ressie had been made to cindys- we checked last night - after speaking with 2 other conc's , they both replied that the first man to tell us it would take a few days was incorrect and never should have said that. this is what conc is for , its not to veg out on the food in place of the meals, its to take care of the ' little things' .

and we have never had to leave the building at any of the resorts to get to the conc- that includes the poly

p.s.- wl conc poster- come and introduce yourself to us, instead of posting on the thread.

and for all of you fluff fluff people who believe this board is just for the positives and not the negatives.. i use this board often to find out the truth , i want the truth, not just the positives. wdw is by far one of the most positive places around for kids. i appreciate the info that people give, whether it is pos or neg. thats what helped us choose what and where to do things.

we really do like the wilderness lodge, the restaurants and the grounds, all we are stating is the conc is just not up to par with a few of the others onsite and offsite. wl rooms are newer and nice and clean- the mousekeepers seem to be very professional and nice. we ate at the whispering canyon and had a blast- artist point is tonight. transportation to mk was a little long but we're use to the gf monorail. the boat ride wasnt very long at all from mk back to wl.
hope this doesnt offend anyone else, but i was just posting the truth. and in no way does this effect our trip- neg or pos-

have a great day

I would agree with bat4less. We also don't think WL is up to par with others but it did not take away from our enjoyment at all.

The lodge is wonderful and they really have the potential to have one of the nicest concierge lounges at WDW. They could do a few things better but they must know that people LOVE AKL Concierge-you think they would try a little harder to compete with AKL at least.

Keep an eye on WL, maybe things will get better.

bat4less:
I think you have a great opportunity to change things. If you are there right now I would say something. They should be open to your comments or suggestions-after all-good reviews only bring them more guests and job security. I wish we would have said something when we were there in October.

Again, it's not bad but it could be a whole lot better.

They could call more people before they actually arrive at WDW for itinerary planning, they could have a little fridge with juice, etc. in it like AKL, they could have a little more food out-all they have to do is bring another table out if they don't have enough space.

What specifically do you think should change? I would be very curious to know.

Please tell me you did not pay full price for Concierge service?
I only think it's worth it in the form of a free or $30 upgrade.

no, thank goodness, we didnt pay full rack price for wl conc.

and i did go back and talk to the conc who didnt tell me the truth, and he still didnt tell me the truth again. even after informing him that 4 other conc's had told me he was crazy.

the food offerings- especially for someone who doesnt drink anything stronger than sprite- are quite small.. the same 3 cookies and the same 2 bars and the same apple crisp every night- is that considered dessert? doesnt compare to the yc or poly or gf- no juices or tea or soft drinks and no conc at the table.

vbfamily-
i am speaking with the head of conc services at the wl today b4 we leave for the gf- will let everyone know how it goes

one more thing- as we got on the elevator to go down to the boat last night , a couple got on with us and they were grumbling heavily about the food selelction and the service at the conc desk. They were most upset with the lack of attention they had received since they checked in. And they are WL vets. they said that wouldnt change their minds about the wl but they would never stay conc again at wl. - seems to be our feelings also.
