Hello everyone!

I need some great advice from WL experts. My family will be staying at WL this coming April. We booked a Woods view, but am considering upgrading to a courtyard view. This will be our 1st time at this resort. My questions are.. where are the best rooms in the lodge???

This is what we like...
- I like the Bears Face. Are these rooms just bunkbed rooms because we need 2 queens? Is this courtyard?

- I love lobby rooms where your door opens into the lobby. How are the views and what catergory is this?

-I love the inner courtyard also.

We'd like to be near the roaring forks, lobby, but with a nice view. I guess noise would not bother us.

Thanks in advance for your help.

We are staying at WL for the first time in April, too! Can't wait. We have reserved Courtyard, bunk beds.

Here is what we have learned about the rooms.

You must PAY extra for the bunk beds, so you WILL get the two queens.

All rooms that face the inner courtyard are in the courtyard view category, but not all courtyard view category rooms face the inner courtyard; some are in the south wing and face the villas. Sometimes people pay for woods view and are "upgraded" to courtyard view, but this seems pretty random, and can by no means be expected.

MOST rooms that are above the lobby are in the woods view category, except for a few that face the courtyard and look directly out onto Bay Lake (the ones kind of between the two wings, I think 8 rooms per floor).

In the North Wing, there are some woods view rooms above the otter pond that actually have nice views of MK, monorail, fireworks. To obtain one, request high floor above otter pond.

I don't know what you mean by the Bear's Face.

Most importantly, you can REQUEST a room in a certain area, but your placement cannot be guaranteed.

There is a link to a layout map of WL including room #'s and categories. Go to The NEW WL FAQ (Part 5)...thread on this board and look at post # 2 (scroll down a bit), there is a helpful resource, WL room #'s and categories.

Good luck! Perhaps we'll see you at the WL! ETA: Looked at your ticker, we arrive the day before you!

Hi MainStreetFiremean!

We will be at WL the same time!!! Thanks for the info.

Here's what I mean

I like the room # 5073 which is the Bears Face, but I think it is a courtyard room. It looks straight out to the lake.

I like room 5083 above the lobby, but I am not sure how the view will be.

Rooms on the North wing around 5032 look nice too.

I am stuck on whether to request the north wing or above lobby, seeing how I don't know how their view differs.

Are you going on spring break, in MA we are on our spring vacation at this time, I teach elementary students.

Thanks.

Hi, jill2teach!

Our spring break is April 21-25. We are pulling our kids (5th and 8th grade)out of school 2 days early, because the flights were SO expensive if we waited until Saturday, or even Friday to travel...and then we wouldn't have been able to afford WL! So happy we have our priorities straight, LOL!

I see what you mean about Bear Face, now. I've looked at that map 100 times and not noticed! Yes, they are courtyard view rooms (odd numbers X069-X079). They are what I was trying to describe as "between the wings" in my above post. X073 is probably the nicest amongst them, being the furthest out of the corner, but yes, courtyard.

I can't help you about the views from 5083 or 5032. Between the 2, I IMAGINE 5032 might be a slightly better view, being further from the main entrance and the road. I think you have a better chance of seeing MK/monorail the further you are out on the north wing, closer to Bay Lake (according to UG, best woods views are X004-X030, 5th or 6th floor, but that's still really close to 5032).

HTH, and that others can share more info about those specific rooms.

See you in April (we'll be brandishing our lime greens)!
