We are heading to San Diego after Disney and are planning to go to the Wild Animal Park. It has been a good 10 years since I was there last time. So I was hoping someone could give me an idea about how much time we will spend at the park. A full day?
Thanks.

You can easily spend a full day there. Last time I went, I was there from opening at 9am until after 7pm--this was at Christmas time and they have a festival of lights there then. During the summer it's "the park after dark" and they have night time runs of the Wgasa bushline railway (aka monorail) and I think some special shows. Also new for you would be the Heart of Africa, Condor Ridge, and Lorikeet Landing. The Heart of Africa is a walking trail where you can get close ups of some African animals, including giraffes, flamingos, some monkeys, antelope, and my favorite--the okapi. There's an area where you can feed a giraffe (for about $1-2) should they decide to come over. There are cheetah's there also, but they're always hiding when I'm there. There's also a store and a counter-service restaurant. There aren't any signs on the trail, but you can get a free guidebook at the head of the trail to help with animal identification. Condor Ridge has CA condors and other birds/animals native to the southwest. Lorikeet Landing is an aviary where for $1-2 you can buy a cup of necter to feed to the lorries (small Australian necter-drinking parrots). They'll come sit on your hand.
