I will be travelling to Disney at the end of October and REALLY want to do the Africa Trek! This is not my first (or even second, or tenth, or 20th...) time to Disney, so I am finally at a point where I am comfortable skipping some attractions in favor of others. What I am still unclear on is A) How much is it per person (there will be two of us) and B) Is it worth the price or can we get a good experience on one of the other trails (Discovery Island, Pangani Forest Trail, etc). I understand this is supposed to be an "intimate" tour, you will see more animals, all of the like, but before shelling out alot of money, just checking that it is worth the cost, as we are two struggling actors :hippie: and would prefer to spend our "extras" wherever we'd be getting the best experience. Any help is appreciated!

I'm not certain of the price right now. They've been offering some good discounts. But we did it right after it opened and it is totally worth it. You cannot get the experience elsewhere in the park. Not even close.

I posted some pics on this thread.

Agreed.
The first time I did it, it was $189 per person, then I did it again during Easter week and we paid a holiday premium, $250 per person.
you'll be treated to lunch out on a boma with the savannah all around you, cross high bridges over the crocs, get very close to the hippos (and they call them over for a snack, the hippos know the routine and come right up partially out of the water).
If you love animals, you'll love it.

So far, this has been the best experience for my dh and I. We enjoy the stops on the safari and the lunch on the Boma. Its worth every penny to us. We would do it again in a heartbeat.

I can't comment on the tour quite yet; my DF and I are signed up for it on November 1st. Everything I've read thus far has said it's an amazing experience, worth every penny so I'm looking forward to it. We paid about $400 with tax...so far there are no discounts on the tour for that time. Hope you choose to do it!

My husband and I are here now and we did the Wild Africa Trek yesterday. We did all if the things the previous posters mentioned. I believe it was approx $200 pp. We loved it!!!

My wife and I are doing the Wild Africa Trek on October 19. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've got a small point and shoot camera with a great zoom. Any suggestion on how to best attach it for good accessibility?

I'd love to see any pictures.

Thanks for your help!

You can only bring a camera if it has a wrist strap or neck strap. And if its a wrist strap, they pick where on the vest it gets attached since there are specific hooks and pockets for each thing.. I used my neck strap and took a ton of pictures. If you can do a neck strap you would have more freedom, but a couple people I did it with had ones with a wrist strap and they were still able to get good pictures even with it being attached to the vest. You just have less freedom of movement with it that way as you CANNOT unhook it from the vest at all during the tour.

It's a toss up. Some days its all booked up and others have openings left. If you know which day you want to do it I'd call and ask how booked they are. If they are pretty open you could take more time to think at least since you have to pay in full at booking.
