I wondered this when we went in October I searched it on another forum and they toldme I had to buy a game from amazon it was about £9 and just made the games compatible Im not sure what it is called though so i will have a look for you

As far as I know it's region encoded (our region (2) is different from the US (1)) and I'd be slightly worried about products which make it ok to play US games invalidating your warranty.


BTW, DS and PSP are region free, so US games work fine on those

Heya, Wii games will not work, the console is region locked.

If you use a product like freeloader etc, it will not invalidate the warranty as it doesn't tamper with the hardware/software or firmware installed on the Wii.

On the other side if you have a DS, PSP or PS3, you can pick up games for those consoles and they will work fine

Nope PS3 is region free. And I can guarentee this as I have 3 american PS3 games.

Playstations are easy to hack and unlock although PS3 will take all regions disks.

Wii so far is totally locked, we use a US system here and the FIL brought over some Euro region disks ...... and we had to give them away as they dont configure.
