I am thinking about bringing our Wii with us on our next trip for when we just want to have some down time in our room. We will be going in Nov. so might not always have the option to just chill at the pool if the weather isn't co-operating. Has anyone ever brought their Wii and if so, was it a good idea, did it get used or just a waste of time packing?
TIA

I've brought my Wii to my classroom, and every time I've had problems with it. I don't think the Wii likes to be transported - it seems a bit delicate.

We always bring our Gamecube so that DS10 can play it in our Denali on the way down (14 hour drive to WDW & we drive straight thru). DS plays it during the drive but only one time did he play it in the room and I think that was in the morning while everyone else was showering, getting ready, etc. There's just too much to do while we're there & it doesn't get played with.

We'd never bring one of our more expensive game systems (Wii or XBox 360) for fear they'd get taken as they are too big to fit in the room safe.

We have stopped packing toys of any kind (expcept for some dollar store junk for in the car). They never get played with and just take up room.

as one pp mentioned - it wouldn't fit in the safe - and if you're driving moving it back and forth every day would be a hassle - we go for the hand held games - whether it's the simple free cell - to nintendo ds - the off time is short that it's not worth setting up a big game system

I don't know where you're staying but some hotels now offer pay per view gaming in addition to movies. You might call & see if your hotel does. Pay for a few hours of gaming would definitely be cheaper than possibly having to replace your Wii if something happened to it.
Other than that, I definitely agree with the handheld suggestion. You might want to pick up a new game or two which would keep them much more entertained.

Thanks everyone, I hadn't even thought about what to do with it when we were in the parks. The Wii is definately staying home!!!:thumbsup2

When my SIL drove down from Kentucky last year, we stayed w/ them at a rental house in Kissimmee. They brought their Wii with them and it was used plenty during the week they were there. They didn't do the parks a whole lot, mostly just relaxing by the pool, etc. The Wii was great for the guys and even the little ones!
