Hi All, hoping someone might be able to advise......wii counsel is not powering on....checked connections and outlet, nothing seems to be wrong, except Wii won't even turn on........what are my options?? Thanks in advance!! Wendy

Have you lost power lately? That happened to me a few months ago after losing power. I don't know how to explain it, but it is a glitch in the power supply. Unplug it for at least 20 minutes, try putting it into a different outlet.
I took mine to game stop and they got it going right away.
I now have a second power supply to switch when the problem happens which is not very often.

Unplug completely from television and wall. Do not just cut power in a surge protector... unplug it. Leave unplugged for several hours... this will initiate the Wii reset. Plug in later and see if it works.

We had this same problem a few months ago. A power surge came through and seemed to knock the power out completely. I thought for sure our machine was broken. After googling it we removed the sd card. Unplugged the machine from the wall, the unit itself, and from the tv. Left it unplugged for a couple minutes. When we plugged everything back in the machine was fine. Just needed to reset itself i guess. Hopefully that helps you too.

I have the same probelm every now and again. I just unplug it from the wall and the console for about a half hour and plug it back in. It always works for me.

Unplug it, leave it unplugged for a while and then plug back in.

One thing we do now when it storms is we unplug it. Haven't had an issue since we started doing that. :)

:thumbsup2 A storm is so likely the cause......and makes total sense! THANKS for all the replies...I'll give it a try when I get home! You all are the BEST!! Wendy

Also, a quick question, you don't have it plugged into a surge protector do you? Ours quit playing and I researched it online to discover that it should not be plugged into one. I hope all the wonderful advice above helps you!!!

Had this happen with ours. It will only reset if you unplug from the wall AND unplug from the Wii console. Somehow the power box will hold the charge if not unplugged from everything.

We have to reset ours ever so often. We just unplug it from the wall and it resets. We only leave it unplugged for 5 minutes and it powers right up.
