What exercises (besides some of the strength training ones) do you think are the best workout for the stomach area. That's where I need to lose.

Unfortunately it is impossible to focus weight loss in a specific area. But if you want to tone and build muscles then any core exercises will help you do so! Especially the plank exercises....they are excellent at building core strength!

I know you can't target a specific area but I would imagine some exercises can help there more than others. There are certain exercises I can't do because of health reasons and the push-up like ones are some of them.

Ugh, the plank.... the plank is the bane of my existence. :guilty:

What soupy said
The best way to loose belly fat (trust me I have my own battle with it)
Is cardio.

The strength exercises will strengthen your core -which helps with lots of different activities and may make your belly look a little flatter -because you will have better posture.

Yours and mine.:guilty: I HATE the plank.

I hear you, personally, I would rather.......

Me too!
Pirates rock. :lmao:
Totally OT--but I have a sticker taped to the inside of my rear window (DH would kill me if I stuck it to the bumper) from a local pirate festival.

the jack knife

Is that the one you lie down on your back and put your heels on the board then make a "V" with your body? If so I tried that one today and I thought I was going to die. It's soooo hard!

I thought the jackknife was hard at first too. It DOES get easier.

I had a friend donate an exercise bike to me :cool1: so I've been combining about 20 min on the bike with a Wii workout. Let me advise you this..if you are not used to riding an exercise bike and your thighs feel like stone after you get off of it, I would NOT recommend doing either the Warrior yoga pose or the lunges (strength section) right away.

The pain will be worse than an unmedicated child birth.:rotfl2:

Yeah those lunges kill me. The funniest, though, was me trying to do the one arm stand up thing (not sure if it was in strength or yoga). Couldn't get of the ground and we were laughing so hard at my attempts.

And I've had 2 unmedicated deliveries, which were still worse!

While I love my wii fit and thought I was getting a workout UNTIL I purchased and played the wii my fitness coach. It's not as fun but gives a much better workout. I recommend it. I've been doing it for just under two weeks and have lost 4lbs and have been able to work myself much harder than when I started.

If you are only interested in the wii fit game than I say do the aerobic exercises to burn fat.

Exercising your core is great, but will not help lose belly fat at all. Dieting and cardio is your best bet.

What I've been doing so far is every morning I do the strength and yoga exercises. I go about 45 minutes. In the evening I do some of the aerobic ones. I do need to up my time on those. I mainly do the step and some hula hooping. Maybe I should do more of that.

I'm also doing WW and as you can see in my ticker that's what I lost in my first week. I know I won't keep losing at that rate but it's encouraging.

I guess I don't figure the hula hooping does anything because I don't feel it like I do with the other exercises.

mudman: does it go faster than say the advanced aerobics? That's too slow of a speed for my taste and I can't seem to break open an "expert" level or such (only a do it yourself that still doesn't go fast enough). Also all the starting and stopping and hitting "A" through the did you eat breakfast today? would you like a fitness tip? things and breaks between each game/exercise drive me nutty! also, how's the music? Better than the wii fit aerobics music? :scared:
