Wii Fit Plus Users: What do you think so far?

My favorites are the parade thing, obstacle course, rhythm kung fu and rhythm boxing advanced, and the advanced step (last two on regular wii fit).

I'm trying to do at least 30 minutes every other day, in addition to about 20 minutes of "Just Dance". Gets me sweating, which means I've been moving :)

I've only been using it for 5 days, but so far I :lovestruc it! My legs were definitely feeling it the next day after the strength training. I love the hula hoop, step, rhythm kung fu and the yoga exercises the best.

Honestly, my biggest plus is it will correct me if my COB is not spot-on with yoga! I've always wondered if I was doing it correctly, and now I don't have to :cool1:

OMG I really really want Just Dance. I've heard fantastic reviews of it for it's workout plus I LOVE to dance and I LOVE the music it's advertising. And I know my DD8 will adore it! I'm seriously thinking of running to Target during lunch to snatch it up!

I got my Wii Fit Plus for Christmas and it is really fun. There are still a ton of things I haven't done, but so far I really like:

-strength training exercises....haven't done all of them, only a few, but the plank/push up, whew, that one is tough!

-running...took me a while to figure out how to get my Mii to run, but putting the Wiimote in the front of my pants works out well, lol

-super hula hooping....wow do my abs feel this one!

-Island cycling....LOVE it!

-rhythm parade....so much fun and boy do your hips feel this one

-Kung Fu.....too much fun to be exercise

-snowball fight...great for abs plus it's really fun whacking out my family member's Miis :rotfl2:

I really suck at the balance games which I guess means I need to them more often. I'm trying to do the Wii Fit Plus for at least 30 minutes 3x's a week, but it's been tough with DD8 back at school and no more holidays for me at work. Between school, work, and DD's bball practice, I didn't touch the Wii Fit for a week, but I'm going to try and do a better job with it.

I really love the rhythm parade.

When I played today I used a different remote and everything was recorded fine. The batteries were low on the one I used yesterday and that may have something to do with it.

I bought the Wii fit Plus, a day before my Wii broke and had to be sent in for repair, so we just now opened it and got it set up. LOVE IT!!!!!:love:

I have worked out about 35 - 45 minutes everyday and have so much fun doing it. I really do work up a sweat. I can see how you can get an even better workout with all the strength training and Yoga. It really makes working out fun.

I started on Sunday with eating better and with the Wii on Monday, and I have already lost 4.6 pounds. I have a looonnnggg way to go, but I am very happy. I know its probably water weight, but its sure nice to see the numbers go in the other direction! :thumbsup2

My 6 and 8 year old daughters love it to and since we are under about 6 inches of snow (and I HATE snow) they can get some energy out and not sit in front of the t.v. all day vegging and watching cartoons.

I also tried the Biggest Loser game today for the 1st time and I think I will like it, but I am going to try it without the Wii Fit. I kept tripping over it and paying attention to where the board was and not on the moves I was trying to learn. Working with Jillian is scary! lol

My weight is also off on the Wii Fit compared to my home scale. By about 5 pounds or so. Doesnt bug me, I just go by my house scale.

I LOVE:love::love: My Wii Fit Plus!

The game that I find myself sweating the most while playing is that silly obstacle course! I try to run and jump through it and I have actually made it all the way through both the beginner and advanced levels. I get so obsessed with actually making it through, that I find myself huffing and puffing and sweating, and I still continue to try it because I have to get through the dang thing:cool2:. I think I did that one game, by myself, for almost 40 minutes one day! My kids think it is hysterical when I get bonked by a cannonball or flattened by a log:rotfl2:.

I have lost about 6 pounds so far and my goal was to lose 12 pounds by April 1. I *should* be able to make it, but I haven't figured out how to adjust the deadline or goal weight. If I can make it, I will be at my lowest weight in the last 10 years:cheer2:!

:rotfl2:I LOVE the obstacle course too. My problem is that I can make it to the fourth level and then I get excited and jump a little, then the darn thing starts back over. :headache::rotfl2: The kids think it's funny because I am the only one who has been in trouble with the wii. But that & the hula hoop are fun for me. I like several others too. I'm glad santa brought it. :thumbsup2

Hi guys! We got a Wii for Xmas but didn't get Wii Fit Plus (yet). We wanted to see what all the hoopla was on Wii and now we don't know why we didn't buy it sooner. We love it!

However, I'm having a hard time figuring out how Wii Fit records your movements (other than hand). All the Wii Play/Sports/Sports Resort type games 'seem' to just take movements off of your remote with your wrist/hand/arm.

i.e., someone mentioned raising your foot to pick up the hula hoop...and jumping over obstacles, etc.

Are you really doing these actions and how does Wii Fit know it with just a remote?

Many thanks from this inexperienced newbie!:goodvibes

I am new to the wii too but I think it's doing it from the board it's self by your weight and location & movement on the board. I may be wrong, but that's what it seems like to me. :confused3

you need to have the balance board for most of the games. it picks up on your wt distrbution on the board. Some of the games involve the wii mote and nunchucks as well. its the best thing! Just got all of these for xmas and Im hooked!

Thanks guys! I thought I saw Wii Fit Plus being sold w/o the board ... but based on your comments it sounds like the board really is essential to the game.

This is on my list for the future (spent too much already on Wii plus remotes and games) so I'm definitely watching this thread to see how you all like it in the long term.

First there was the original Wii Fit and it came with the balance board. Now they have made the Wii Fit Plus (which is also sold with the balance board) but the added some new features to the plus, so they offer just the game so if you already have the Wii Fit original you can upgrade to the plus without having to buy another board. The game and board run about $88-99.

I have really enjoyed my Wii Fit so far, I've only had it since Christmas. I love how your pets help you in some of the games if you made a profile for them. Unfortunately I have received low scores on exercises because of the real versions stepping on the balance board with me.

I was wondering if anyone has any of the accessories? I would like to buy a mat since the hardwood floor isn't the gentlest on me. Does anyone have one and did you buy a wii fit one or just a regular yoga mat. I've seen complaints that the ones made for the wii fit aren't that great and to buy the regular mats. Plus a regular yoga mat is cheaper and there are more colors. Just wondering.:)

I have the WiiFit Plus and the You Shape, and I like the Wii Fit better. It's easier fo me and still challenging. The You Shape has a camera and shows a small video of myself on my TV screen, if I wanted to watch myself exercise, I'd do it in front of a mirror, which I don't!:lmao:

I haven't figured out how to jog all the way around the island yet? Do more options open as you go?
And do you guys wear shoes or just socks when you use the balance board?

I love that it has my weight as almost 10 pounds lighter, but I hate that it has my Wii age at 7 years older!!! :rolleyes1

Just a note if any of you are considering purchasing the Biggest Loser game. I tried it today (when I could get DD away from it - she's on it for hours if I let her) and the few minutes I did really made me feel like I worked out. And my Wii Fit isn't even here yet (hopefully we'll have it in a week). I've read people saying that it takes too long between exercises, but I didn't find that with whatever circuit my DD had me doing today. :)

I have tried the Wii Fit Plus---I just don't think it gives me the work-out like going to the gym/running/walking, etc does. I can see where it promotes the being more active than just sitting and doing nothing--but I can't see it as being to the same advantage/calorie burning as doing the real exercising without the Wii.

I noticed more of a change with 2 weeks of hitting the gym or even walking 6 miles daily in the summer vs what I noticed in 2 weeks on the Wii Fit Plus.

I don't have the mat but found the riser for the wii board so it more of a step now than before where is is more like a bump off the floor.

Do you like the risers? I saw those and thought about getting those too. I HAVE to get some kind of mat, doing the Biggest Loser's "planks" about killed my knees.

I don't wear shoes or socks doing the activities that are on the board, simply because the instructions said not to. I do all the other activities I want to before the run, then put my sneakers on to run. As for unlocking the Around the Island, I think it does it by the pace you go..how steady it is, maybe by time too, though I'm not sure. I do know I did the basic run for probably 4 days before I unlocked the next one, did that one probably 3 days, then the longer one unlocked.
