I know by reading this board that many of you got the Wii Fit from Santa this past Christmas. Now that we are few days into the new year I thought it would be interesting to see your impressions so far. You have been using it, right?

I'll start. Today was day two for me. So far I have spent an hour on it.
Likes:
- Calendar stamps to visually show that I did work. To see a stampless calendar should movtivate me to use it everyday
- The scale is a good 6 pounds off my home scale - in my favor!
- The exercises are fun after the learning curve.
- The center of balance thing forces you to work - it knew when i put my foot down during a pose and called me on it!

Dislikes:
- The time between cardio portions. Guess I can do jumping jacks to keep the heart up between. I wish I could (and maybe I can - haven't read the manual) set up a series of cardio sequences to run through. I see where you can do that with yoga & strength.

Otherwise I think this is a great beginner program and hope it will help me reach my goal.

How about others? What are you impressions so far?

We really enjoy it and have been pretty faithful about using it. DD15 has probably only missed 2 days since Christmas Day. DH is nearly as good; me, not quite (but then, I haven't had a break from school and/or work like DD and DH, so I have an excuse -- which, of course, is what got me into my little exercise mess in the first place).

Anyway, exercise time goes much faster on the Wii than on my treadmill. Also, with the bitter cold we've had, it's way better than a walk in negative windchills. It gets 2 thumbs up from me.

We'll all have to check in at the 6 month mark.

I got mine for Christmas. I've been exercising every day so I am on day 12. I was going to give myself Sunday as a day off but I felt like exercising so I did.

I quickly learned that it was better to do the routines where you pick the areas you want to target and then it randomly chooses the exercises. I pick the same areas every day but the exercises are always different. My 5 year old loves to get up with me in the morning and watch. He cheers me on. When a yoga move comes on he goes "oh Mommy, it's a green one, good luck!". So cute :goodvibes

I really feel a difference in my body already. And I have more energy too. My allergies seem to be a lot better as well.

The biggest challenge for me is keeping my balance, especially where I have to stand on one foot.

The scale is also off for me - it says 153 when my upstairs scale says 157. It also will say that I have gained when I show that I have lost. But I dont let that part bother me.

Good luck everyone!!!

We're loving it. We've had Wii Fit for a long time but the Plus games are so much fun! I like the calorie counter too!

How do you do that? I just got off and am on day 12 too. Between me DH and the 3 kids this is all that is ever being done at our house. I hope we all keep it up. My balance sucks and I cannot do any of the balance games, shifting weight for the skiing or snowball fight, soccer balls...I just can't do it :-(

Just got off of it and now it is DD's turn. We are having lots of fun with it.

Mine is due to ship from Dell on 1/12 so I'm anxious to keep up with what you guys think of it. I"m excited!!

You click on My Fit Plus (I think that's the name) then Wii Fit Plus Routines: http://wii.ign.com/dor/objects/8871...2009-wii-fit-plus-pics-20090602112126514.html

Then click on the Combine button.

Then pick the areas you want to target. It'll show you the length of time they will take. Then it goes into the routine (you probably have to click A).

We love it too! Between Wii Fit Plus and Wii Sports Resort, DS10 is getting at least some exercise every day, even though it's freezing and snowy outside. He's encouraging us to be more consistent too. It's funny, the run/ jog is my favorite thing to do, but I don't run in my real life unless somebody is chasing me! :rotfl:

That's so funny, Minnie..I am the same way..my joke is.. I only run if something carniverous is chasing me!

At any rate, we got ours for Christmas, and I've done 8 days out of 12, I think. I feel like I need the aerobic work more than anything else, so I start with super hula hoop, then basic step, then advanced step to warm up, then go into the run. I am NOT a runner by nature, but I really am enjoying it, and find the new levels unlocking is really keeping me motivated. I'm up to the "Around the Island" run, which is 14 minutes. If anyone told me a month ago I'd run for 14 min I'd have told them they were nuts!! I've also done a few of the strength training ones, and I have to admit, I loooove the ski jumping, I just wish it burned more than 5 cals! :rotfl2: I hope we can keep this thread up, it will be fun to chat about it. :goodvibes

I am very pleased with my Wii. First bought the Wii Fit in June and then updated to the Wii Fit Plus when it came out a few month later. I have 'banked' over 100 hours, and have lost 15 pounds. This exercise routine is so much more enjoyable to me than going to a private gym or the YMCA. I can do it in the privacy of my home, whenever I want - no driving somewhere else. Also, I don't have to wear shoes or a bra - and don't have to see all the "pretty boys" that are on the weight machines at the gym. lol

We got the Wii Fit Plus for Christmas but didn't open it until Jan 2. The first night we played it for 4 hours! The next two days we did it 40 minutes each. Now I am at my mom's helping her recover from surgery so I won't be able to be home and use my Wii Fit until Friday and I really miss it! I love the balance skiing game and the step aerobics!

Oh my gosh my balance is the worst in that game I'm always unbalanced:rolleyes: But the more I do some of those games the better I get. The first time my scores are so low, especially the boxing, what is up with that I cannot get it :rolleyes1 took me a while to catch on to the kung fu boxing too, I swear I have no rhythm and no balance. My yoga instructor is always telling me I need to work on those games to improve. And does it bug anyone else that the Yoga Instructor's mouths don't move when they talk??

We got the original Wii Fit when it first came out and I used that thing religiously. We got Wii Fit Plus for X Mas along with Wii Resort. I like the balancing games, the snow ball fight, the flapping chicken thingy, and my daughter likes the cardio. I am going back to my regular gym Monday. It's my resolution! LOL!

What is the difference between the Wii fit and the Wii fit plus? I have a Wii fit already, is the plus worth it?

If you already have wii fit then you can just buy the wii fit game and not the one that comes with the balance board. The game is about $20. I got it at Target for $19.99. I like the fit plus! It comes with a lot of extras! I like the new games!

Subbing....Bought my plus software from Walmart and got free shipping. Can't wait to try it out. I enjoy the Wii fit a lot and saw a weight loss with regular use! :)

We've had the Wii Fit for a long time and got the Wii Fit Plus for my birthday (just before Christmas). Dh laughed when I asked for it but I thought it looked like fun.

We are all (including dh) having a blast playing the new games! I think it's well worth the $20!!

Is there any privacy to the wii fit...meaning if i do this will everyone in my house that uses the wii know my dreaded number. I am wondering if there is a password for me only and will any of my info be visual if someone happens to come in while i am doing this. We have the wii fit but i would be interested in getting the new wii fit plus....i am not brave like those biggest losers:eek:
