Wiggles question

We watch the Wiggles every morning on Disney Channel, but I'm a little confused because I know they are in Six Flags. Is Six Flags owned in part by Disney? Will we find anything Wiggle related in WDW or no?

TIA
Sarah

The wiggles are every where, they are even on the Nickelodeen(sp) website. They have a few wiggles things in DS near Playhouse Disney but not very much( well at least last year when we went). The same with the doodlebops.

I didn't see any wiggles stuff when we were there. I don't think Disney owns the full rights to the Wiggles, but I could be mistaken.

Disney did own the rights to the Wiggles, and must still own the TV show. Through what must have been some sort of loophole, the Wiggles contracted with Six Flags to do themed areas. Disney was NOT HAPPY. Prior to their stabbing Disney in the back, there WAS Wiggles merchandise on a cart outside Playhouse Disney, but it was gone when I looked for it last year. My friend's DS LOVED Wiggles and that was all he wanted me to bring him from WDW so I was really disappointed that all the stuff was gone.

Since the Imagination Movers have a new Playhouse Disney show, I got the impression that Wiggles are on their way out.

Well how old are most of the wiggles shows on the disney channel anyway b/c I have yet to see the new yellow wiggle.

I think the Wiggles have been around for over 11 years now. I looked at the date on the Yummy Yummy CD with Hot Potato :rotfl:

DS4 loved them at one time. Now he's kind of over them.

I think the Wiggles, Bear in the Big Blue House and Roli Poli Ollie are all a thing of the past  I miss Bear.

I did read somewhere that it was a huge mess when the Wiggles signed up with Six Flags. I do believe Disney only owns their US TV rights. I've read elsewhere that in Europe the Wiggles are on Nick.

I would bet that Greg (original yellow wiggle) has some put it in some contract that he's in all the tv shows and merchandise. I don't see him giving up a multi-million dollar enterprise so fast to Sam the new yellow wiggle.

We watched an old wiggles VHS from 2002 today it was funny looking at what they use to look like and what they look like now. The wiggles have been on the disney channel now since around 2002 or 2003 so it is about time for the to move on. I am right there w/ you on missing Bear, we watched him this morning too and I almost cried. In fact my dd7 told me the other day mom we can get rid of all my dora movies b/c I don't watch them anymore but we can't get rid on any of my Bear movies. I miss Rolie Polie Olie too, I can remember at 3mths old dd7 was mesmorized (sp?) by that show.

The shows they are showing now on Playhouse Disney are farely new. They say 2006 at the end (my youngest just started really liking The Wiggles so we are DVRing them). So those were taped when Greg was still there. There are new videos with Sam (yellow) in them now.

It's very unfortunate that Greg (the previous yellow Wiggle) is no longer with them. He had a wonderful voice, and was very sweet. We've attended many of their concerts here in the US, and have become involved with the Field family. I can't answer any of the questions, with fear of passing along wrong information. I do know that if you look very hard, there still is Wiggle merchandise available throughout Disney in the gift shops. Lots of CD's, books, toys, games, etc.
If you have any Wiggly questions, check out their website. They also have things available online to purchase. Happily Wiggling...LOL

I was just in WalMart yesterday and saw a new Wiggle dvd (sorry, I didn't notice the title) with Sam Wiggle on it. Sam has been performing at their live shows for ages now, but this is the first product I've seen with him.

Just an FYI, Greg has solo CDs that he records. If you really like his voice. I don't care for the music that he does, but it is out there. Just google Greg Page and you should find them.

My oldest has seen The Wiggles 3 times in concert. His first concert was the only one that we saw Greg. The second was in Greenville, SC and Greg got sick right before (double hernia) so Sam filled in. Then they were in Charlotte, NC and Greg had passed out before they got to Charlotte, so Sam filled in. So we were kind of used to Sam being in yellow before Greg had to quit. We hated it too, but Sam does a really good job.

I was curious about this too...my ds (15 months) loves the Wiggles, so we have to DVR it everyday. He just loves the singing. I was hoping we'd get a glimmer of something Wiggle while at Disney, but I'm sure seeing Mickey will get him over it quickly.

Thanks for starting this thread.

Why did Greg have to leave? I heard it was because his daughter was ill, but from SandrainNC post is seems like it was him?

He has some disorder that when ever he would sing, dance and jump around he would faint. In some Wiggle episodes when they show "Wiggliy Concerts" you can see him just standing on stage singing, not dancing. All the exact details of his illness is listed on their website.

I guess I need to stock up on some "baby crack" before it leaves disney channel. DS LOVES the Wiggles. Sometimes it's the only thing that will calm him down.
Choo Choo Soul is what he likes in the car, but the Wiggles are the IT thing at home.

My DH loves watching Choo Choo Soul! :lmao:

I honestly like the Wiggles. We saw them at Madison Square Garden once and it was a great concert. We have their cds but that's about it. DS4 likes to watch the shows occassionally, but DS1 has no interest. DS4 dominates what's on the tv and it's usually The Little Einsteins. So now my DS1 is obsessed with the Einsteins. He does his little toddler dance when he hears the song, it's so cute.:cool1: I can't wait for him to dance at Playhouse Disney and see them live!

It's so funny how times change. What my DS4 watched at one year old is practically off the air!

I don't care for the music he does either...LOL. I've heard his adult stuff, and I'll take 5 Little Ducks, and Big Red Car, any day...LOL
