According to WDWMagic all resorts at WDW now have free WiFi, including Ft. Wilderness.

So who's there now? Do you have WiFi? Is it at your campsite, or just in hotspots at public places?

Thanks for any info!

There is free wifi in some places, let me see I remember Outpost, Settlement, Medows and by the pool but only around the bathroom. I'm sure there were more place but I can't remember..

This is a good question. I would like to know also.

When we were there last year there was free WiFi in those places also. Unfortunately it didn't work. The friendly cast members at the Outpost even hooked us up with the Tech Support people, but WiFi was on the fritz.

But WDWMagic is reporting WiFi rollout to all resorts is complete and that includes rooms. So what about campsites?

Anyone?

Wifi hotspots are currently at Outpost - Meadows TP - Trails End. I tried out all three this afternoon. Slow but available. Probably slowest at Outpost. No service in the loops.:surfweb:

Well then I will ask about it while I am here.

From the news section of the DIS:

"Guests staying at a Walt Disney World resort will now have access to complimentary Wi-Fi internet service in their hotel rooms. The service is also available in most common areas, including restaurants, bus loading areas, feature pools, arcades, convention halls and the porte cocheres (covered unloading zone at the front of the hotels). To access the network, guests will need to connect to the network option "Guest Access Unsecured" on a wireless-enabled device such as a laptop or cell phone. Wireless internet is not currently available at the campsites at Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, but free wired Internet access is available. Covered cellular carriers include AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and MetroPCS."

I guess no WiFi at the campsites :(

This is great news for those who need it. I use my 4G phone and it flys. With that said I try not to do much on the net when on vacation!

Just another thing that those of us paying the high fees to camp don't get to enjoy--just like free dining. We pay close to value resort rates, but are treated like second class citizens. Glad DW is moving into the 21st century with free wi-fi at the hotels so we can only hope they realize other campgrounds actually offer free Wi-Fi to their guests.

Thanks for the update. In reply to what FW receives, we don't get our rooms vaccumed, not clean linens, no cost air conditioning unused rooms, and no counter service like the hotels. It is a good thing we all love camping and enjoy our own rvs and tents.

we were in spot 931, across from the meadows and I was able to get wifi right outside the camper door

I guess the bits were blowing in your direction. :goodvibes

I should of thought to try it out in 100 loop too near Pioneer Hall.

We are currently in 600 loop backing upto the pool, next to the store and have great wifi reception. Life is great at The Fort.

We went to the front desk and put a 125.00 deposit down for the box. If you bring your router your set if not you'll have the ethernet cord.. worked for us..

We just returned from the 2400 loop. We showed a signal but could not do anything with it. We saw several people using it at the settlement. No one at the small pool using it. I have a Droid tablet with hot spot built in and got super results. Something to consider when making those buying choices. My wife's phone (Droid) worked great at the marina.
