WiFi vs. wired internet connection

Going to BWV in June and wondering if the old wired internet service in the rooms is still working now that WiFi is available? Also how is the WiFi performance vs. the old wired connection. I'm just wondering if I should bring my own Airport Express and do my own WiFi via the wired connection or if the WiFi service works as well or better then wired.

I plan to bring my router when I stay there at the end of next month, hoping the wired is still there. Reports are mixed on the speed of the WiFi, nost saw it's slower.

We adore BWV but we had problems with our wifi there in October and in January. The connection was very unreliable. I talked to Member Satisfaction about it. I was told that the wired service would be discontinued but it was still there in January. When I could get on, the speed was decent but certainly not as good as my cable service at home.
We are at OKW now. I can almost always get on but at night the speed drops to almost nothing. Trying to upload photos is an exercise in futility.
Bottom line, bring your Airport Express and cross your fingers. It is really pathetic that in 2012 Disney still does not have good wifi in its hotels.

The wired connection will be disconnected, we just don't know when. The wired speed at BWV last December was slower than in the past.

It was working at OKW 2 weeks ago and we're glad it was and that I had the wireless travel router. The wireless was slow and also did not work throughout the entire unit. I was afraid they'd still charge for the wired (member staying on exchange) but no such luck.

We had a boardwalk view room on the 4th floor last week and could not get the WiFi to work. I was able to hook up my travel router and the wired service worked fine. We moved to the Grand Floridian mid-week, and the WiFi was working great there. I definitely plan on taking my router for our next trip to Jambo and BLT. I hope the wired service is still good then, or the WiFi is working correctly.

We're at Kidani right now and we're using the wifi, it's slow but does work. We also brought a router but it wouldn't work (used it 1 month ago just fine). Dh called the help number and was basically told that they do not troubleshoot the hard wire anymore.
