Have any of you used the wireless internet service offered at some of the resorts? When my husband and I go to WDW this July, we will need to access it very soon after we arrive as we run an online business and will be away (on a cruise) for a few days prior to arriving at BWV. Instead of trying to find a Starbucks en route to WDW from the port, I am trying to work out how easily accessible the service is/will be at the Beach Club. I figure that while I am dealing with the check in routine, my husband could head over to the Beach Club area and get himself set up so that he can take care of business right off the bat and then be done with it with the exception of short log ins now and then from there on out. What was your experience with gettng set up/how long did it take? Thanks!

I haven't used wi-fi at WDW yet, I know other places it was relatively easy though. Giving a bump in case someone has done it there :)

I used it last month at BWV. I was in a courtyard room and could see people's faces in the lobby through the windows - that close. My wi fi would not work in the room nor on the balcony overlooking the lobby even though it said OK connection. I went into the lobby, sat on a chair near fireplace and it worked perfectly!!!! Now I could look at the spot just 60 feet away outside but it only worked in the lobby. I also tried it poolside and it worked perfectly. Only tried it there as I wanted to swim, not surf!!! Anyway, the BWV and BCV have hot spots available to you and they work great. I am looking forward to the day that all the resorts are hot spots. They just installed all the DSL wiring and already it is behind the next generation internet connection. It is much more convenient to go to the lobby than a starbucks , so bring the wifi laptop and enjoy!

Thanks so much for your help! I hadn't realized that BWV has its own hot spot - I had only thought that it was available at BCV, so thats great news!

What is the cost of the service?
Is it packaged or is it a pay as you surf plan?

Disney now offers Wi-Fi (high speed wireless Internet access) in the public areas of its convention hotels. You will need a Wi-Fi enabled laptop computer or PDA to access the Internet from designated areas of each resort. Smart City is the provider and bills the guest using a secure credit card transaction via an on-screen Internet connection. Requires a wireless interface card (WIC), available for purchase in the resort's business center. $4.99 per hour or $9.95 for a 24-hour period.

Locations for Disney's Wi-Fi access:

Grand Floridian - Main Lobby, Convention Center Hallway, Beach Pool
Contemporary - Main Lobby, Convention Center Hallway, Feature Pool
Yacht & Beach Club - Main Lobbies, Convention Center Hallway, Stormalong Bay Pool
Coronado Springs - Main Lobby, Convention Center Hallway, Feature Pool, Francisco's
