Wife's 40th B'day...Oh, What to do?... What to do?

My wife, myself and our two sons, ages 13 and 14, will be visiting WDW and the WL Nov. 8 thru 13 and sailing on the Disney Wonder from Nov. 14 thru 17. The wifes 40th birthday is Nov. 11, coincidentally we were married on her birthday and will also be celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary.

Here comes the question.

Since this is such a special birthday, what ideas do you have to make it unforgetable?

Not only on her special day but ideas for the whole week, including the cruise part. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Mickeep, I have never used them but I have heard this place does beautiful work. I pulled up the website and everything looked really nice. You can call them and they will even work with you to make something even more special.

They will deliver it to the ship for you.

I had my 40th on our last cruise and got a beautiful sapphire and
diamond bracelett in St. Maarten. I know the bahamas has pretty good jewelry deals too so I would suggest you tell her she can pick out something when in port. I got a gold and diamond band to go with my wedding set years ago in freeport for only $300.00 that was appraised back home for 450.00. The best deals are in St. Maarten but the bahamas still is better than the states.

Or... you could do what my husband did for our anniversory which we spent four in disney and three on the ship. He pre purchased an anniversary band from a jeweler back home and presented it to me on our balcony at the Polynesian with a bottle of champagne he bought in the Poly's store. Also if you let them know it is your anniversory the Poly had a rose waiting for us in our room with a card and on the ship we got a cake. (on my birthday one they gave me a cake and a pin) Ann

When we celebrated our 25th in 1998 the WDW florist did amazing things for me to be able to have in the room when we got there not just flowers. They are the essence of what makes Disney... Disney. My wife's favorite character/ movie is Cinderella we worked on that theme there was a glass slipper engraved from her prince (me) Flower arrangement in a Disney 25th anniversary vase romance basket full of bath stuff champagne and mickey glasses there is no end to what you can do. I planned dinner on a boat that we watched the fire works over the castle from the Grand Floridian in the rain. Contact WDW florist and they will go to town for you and work within your budget. The ride in the Glass Globe coach was a little out of my budget $2,500.00 On board ship there is all sorts of things you can have in your stateroom the co up top I hear does a good job. this time last year...my wife and I celebrated our 40th birthday with a 4 day cruise....without the kids - what a memory!!

Best advise an older brother gave me about presents for a spouse.

The gift should never;
- make daily chores ---- easier or faster

The gift should;
- sparkle
- shine
- and hurt when you write the check

I've attempted to follow this...and have yet to get into trouble.

For my 40th birthday last July my dh booked the cruise for are 20th Anniverary. I was very happy can't wait to go the cruise will be great just the two of us.
