Watched it for the first time today. Lifetime had 5 episodes on that I know of, they may have had more. I always worked 2nd shift and hardley ever watched tv.

Very interesting show.

It is interesting for sure. I always get a kick how they swap "obedient" stay at home wives with "career" oriented moms where the hubby in that relationship takes care of the home, cleans, cares for the kids. The "obedient" mom usually tries and tells the hubby of the career mom that he needs to stand up for himself and be a man.....I'm like hello kettle this is pot and your black!!!! The show really shows how people still will not let the sexual stereotypes die. It is like their comfort zone or something. Weird.....

I wish I had known that.. "Trading Spouses" and "Wife Swap" are interesting to watch.. Some of the "swaps" are so far out there.. I remember a year or two ago I asked here on the DIS if these shows were "true" (so to speak) after watching the one with the crazy Christian woman who was screaming about the devil, tore up the check, etc.; - and was told that they were in fact "real".. (This same woman's DD was killed in a car accident that same year - sometime after the show - and someone sent me a link to the actual newspaper article..:sad2:)

I love the endings - where you find out how the "other" mom has chosen how the money should be spent.. Sometimes good - sometimes not so much - LOL..

Oh that one with that crazy "Christian" lady was one of my all time favs!!! My favorite scene was where the said "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus and now get the HELL out of my house!" :scared: Sorry to hear her daughter was killed in an accident.

A co-worker and his family swapped with another family and were recently featured on the show.

Lifetime has re-runs and ABC has the newer shows on Friday nights. :happytv:

Any idea when the re-runs are on? Are they during the day - every day - at a specific time on Lifetime? I have 2 VCR's here, so I could tape them in one room while I'm watching something else in the other.. :)

You cannot drop a tidbit like that & not share which episode they were!!

What I've noticed is that in a lot of the 'womens work/mens work' homes after the other wife does the 'switch' & makes them live by her rules (which usually includes the husband doing 'womens work') the husband realizes how much the wife actually does & starts helping her.

Also the ones with one Christian family & 1 non-Christian family usually make me cringe because the Christians come across as so closed-minded & holier-than-thou. Gives us all a bad name.

I watch those shows when I see them on. But the most pressing question for me is always why, why, why????? WHY would anyone volunteer to do that. Eeewwww, it would be so creepy pretending to be the wife of a total stranger. And WHY are the wives always SO surprised when the lifestyle of the new family so greatly differs from their own. Have they never seen the show before?

If I were to sign on for this show (which I would NOT), I'd just brace myself to be the new mom of a neat-freak, germaphobe, super-structured family , totally opposite of my own.

The fights often seem staged, but it's interesting to see the way other people live.

I wonder too how much they get for doing these shows, has to be money involved. I don't see/hear any of them trying to be actors/actresses.

There was one gal who did wife swap who I also saw on the HGTV show where they compete to be HGTV's newest designer. I've watched quite a few episodes and that's the only one I've seen with someone "famous." They never mentioned it on the show, but she was clearly the same person. I wonder if she slipped that one by the producers.

Yes, they do get paid.

The application process is a very very long one, too.
