OK, I gave in. I guess I subconsciously wanted to buy VGF or I wouldn't have shown my wife the photos of the model rooms.

My wife is very, very, very excited! We called our guide today and added-on 120 points at The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. :cool1: (that's my wife dancing, not me)

I can't say it makes the best financial sense to own at VGF, as it is purely an emotional decision. The Grand Floridian is my wife's favorite resort at WDW. She's always wanted to own at a DVC at the Grand Floridian and now she does.

We'll use the 120 points to book a Studio at 11 months, and use our BWV/BLT points to try to book 1-BR units at 7 months.

After DW squealed with delight and I saw the huge grin on her face, I stopped thinking about the point inflation and other financial considerations that the right side of my brain kept thinking about. Oh well.

Of course, I will now have 1,271 points, which is a tad too much for us to use. I will probably be looking to sell some BCV points in a few months.

Maybe I got this wrong but did you not say you were not tempted?:confused3

Congrats!

I've been following some of your comments and analysis...and thought you may actually hold out ;)

The pictures I've seen are amazing, more than any other DVC it looks like Walt personally supervised the VGF design, so I'm sure you'll have fun!

Congratulations! Ya'll will look good hanging out at the VGF!:thumbsup2

Oh, no! I used your very concise analysis to justify not buying. Now what am I going to do? I'm very happy for you and your wife but you've left me scratching my head and wondering if I should follow your example! I always enjoy your trip reports so now I'll get to enjoy more of them.

Lucky Mrs. Mike! VGF rooms look absolutely amazing! Hope that you use those camera skills to post photos on your first trip to VGF, Mike.

Congrats!! A happy wife is well worth the cost. Of course after you sell of some of your other points, then net cost will be even less. :thumbsup2

I saw the evolution of this.... very cute! Yes, happy wife= happy life, indeed! Congratulations!

Those pictures convinced more than a few of us!

We're thinking about Beach Club too... the difference in expiration dates is a dilemma.

yes... definitely good husband... ;)

know it hurt to go again your numbers.

but think what it means to her - your value her more than your analysis - that says alot.

She would have have gone along w/o your buying - but bid she would have been hurt.

Congrats Mike! We bought 50 points by I asked my guide to call me back before June 19 because I think I will want 50 more. GF has always been my favorite resort and I will kick myself if I don't buy enough points there.

Looking forward to your first GFV trip report!

Good for you guys.....

Some people spend money on things, some people spend money on experiences, I take the experiences road.

LOL, Mike! I thought you were being awfully bold when you talked about resisting the urge a couple of days ago! Enjoy!
