Wife Can't Go!!! Have to change my trip from Jan 26 - Feb 02, to Mar 01 - 08!

AAAAHHHHHHHH!!! . I've spent almost an entire year planning this trip. I had the perfect dates picked for low crowds and cool weather, as well as a value season week. Now I have to cough up about $800 or so in order to atleast keep my WL package. I also had the discount for the free PH upgrade and room discount!!! But thanks to my wife's college professors, I have to now try and move everything to March (My wife's spring break) .

My wife felt so bad, she suggested that I leave her and my 1 yr old, and just take my 9 and 14 year old and keep the Jan. reservations. But I couldn't leave her and the baby behind, or could I??? .

Okay Disney experts, I need to feel better about the first week in March. Give me the advantages other than it's ESPN the weekend . You should also be made aware that March 02 is my Birthday .

Will the crowds be awful? Keep in mind I usually go in July. I know, HOOOOTTTT and crowded. Should I splurge and switch to the Poly since it'll be Warmer. What's the scoop. Give me some positive news so I can feel better.

I'm no expert but do live in Florida only 2 hours from WDW and the weather will NOT be hot. March is usually beautiful weather with days being low to mid 80's and nights in the 60's. We even have the occassional "cold" spell where it can get down to freezing temps at night. I can't help you with the crowds but it should not be too bad due to Easter is at the end of March so maybe you will luck out with better weather and pretty good crowd levels in March.

I would much rather go in March than Jan/Feb!!! The last time I went in March the weather was quite nice (not hot, not cold) and the crowds were quite low. Seeing how you were booked in late January I am not sure if they would still have any attractions closed for refurbishment, but any minor refurbishment closures will definitely be open by March!!

First, you will be amazed and very happy at this change of time. March is beautiful!!! Out of our 8 trips, March was our very favorite time to go. The only thing you'll encounter are lots of college kids. But that is a good thing. They are pretty well behaved and just there to have a good time, they're actually pretty fun. You are going to love it. Use the early openings to get into the parks, for sure. Get everyone up early! And then take the break in the afternoon. Go back at night to enjoy the shows. Have fun, you'll love this time of year!

Monday thru Thurs. you should see very little in the way of crowds, and the weather is beautiful then!

I think the OP is referring to the heat b/c he usually goes in July. Hope you have a great time in march.

Well, my family loves Splash Mountain ; it is our all-time favorite Disney ride, and it is closed during your original dates (closed Jan. 1 to Feb. 15). I like it so much that if I knew ahead of time it was closed during a certain time, I would not plan my own family's trip for then. But it will be open in March. So if you happen to like Splash Mountain as we do, this is a plus!

Thanks everyone!!! Just from the few responses I've seen thus far I'm pumped. I hope most of you are right about low crowds and better weather. Long as it is not HOT! I've seen TOO much of Disney's heat.

Just think, if you were going as orginally planned by March your trip would have been over. Now, you will spend your birthday in Disney during ESPN weekend. Does it get any better??? Have a great trip!!
