I am on both sides of this. We often get asked if they can take our kids' pictures... not so much the 13 and 10 year olds, (well the 10 year old often gets her picture taken while playing basketball, but how do you tell someone not to get your child in the shot... she was the picture on the sign up sheet more than once now... I kind of wish they would have at least told us, but it's all good) But my 5 and 3 year old still get it all the time. If I am ok with it, I tell the person that they have to ask my child... this way if my son or daughter doesn't feel ok with it, all they have to say is NO!
On the other hand, my husband is one who will ask to take another childs picture... or if a parent and child are sharing a moment, he will ask if he can snap a shot... or Halloween at the Zoo, he was asking and taking tons of pictures of all the "baby animals" dressed up children. He took tons of pictures that day, asked before everyone and NOBODY told him No!
I think it is a bit odd... my hubby is a picture taker, so nothing odd to him!

It freaks me out.
(Of course I still dress her in really cute clothes and she is very pretty (proud mommy). But I wanted her to learn that it is not all about "looks", actions are important too

....... Actually I can only remember 2 times and they were both at WDW and both with the same DD
And once on the last day of our trip she had a complete meltdown tears and everything because we were leaving that evening right there in the front of Mickey's house.
(Not that I as a Mickey fanatic could blame her or anything because I had a big lump in my throat the whole day too). She was 4. So from that we learned no 1/2 days at the World we always leave first thing in the morning because we were all depressed in all honesty, LOL.
