Wierd Pet Habits

Our Jack Russell Terrier, Nellie, has a big thing for tissues and toilet paper!
She pulls toilet paper off the roll, or grabs tissues out of the waste basket, and runs like crazy! She will even search for tissues in coat pockets, and handbags. I wonder what the attraction is!:p

Our pug does the same thing!! And then we have to chase him around so he won't eat them.... and it's a big game!! Of course, he's still a puppy, so maybe he'll grow out of it? (maybe not!)

When we go to sleep, Scrumpy will snuggle under the covers and sleep on my belly. That'll be real fun when he's full grown... heh. .

One of my 3 cats has to get a running start when you open the door for him to go out. Even if he is standing right at the door when you open it, he will circle back about 6-8 feet so he can RUN out the door.
Another of my cats retrieves small wadded up balls of paper. You toss it, he chases after, gets it and brings it back and drops it at your feet to do it again. I don't think this is that uncommon in cats, though, bc. I had a cat when I was a child who did the same thing.
My female cat sits or lays on mice when they, get in the house. This way they pass out (from lack of oxygen I guess) and my DH tosses them. This hasn't happened too often lately. I think the local mice have passed the word around that there are 3 cats in our house----do not enter!

KaterBell,
At least we are not alone in our toilet paper chase.

I guess our dogs are officially in the toilet paper/tissue club!:teeth:

Our cat Tigger does the bathroom/shower thing too!! Also as soon as the alarm goes off in the morning she is there to greet us.Skittles on the other hand goes to bed at the same time each night laying on the same spot on the loveseat. If anyone or anything gets in that spot she gets it to move or she knocks it down. They both love trying to get at boiled eggs. Whenever I start to crack a boiled egg to peel it they are right there and will try to steal the egg and eat them!! Both cats love to get on our laps when we are on the computer. There are other things but I can't remember them right now

We have had a lot of weird animals. I had a dog who would HOWL like mad when the theme from Andy Griffith came on TV. My current cat will run in from wherever she is, even outside, when my dh gives me a footrub. We cannot figure out how she KNOWS but she does. She does everything in her power to get him to stop rubbing my foot and pet her. My mom had a cat that would nuzzle you to death if you put on Ben Gay. This same cat HATED when my dad played the harmonica and would run in from wherever she was and BITE him. My mom also had another cat that hated electronic christmas bells. My mom had one and he would come and steal it and hide it if someone turned it on. If you had your hand on it when he came running you got bit.

Our pug baby does the tissue paper thing also, or any paper she can rip up. I just remembered another goofy thing she does. When ever she comes into the house from a walk, she jumps up on the couch and steals my fiance's lighter off the end table. She runs down the hall with it and then waits for someone to chase her so she can run under the bed with it. Chuck stopped putting his lighter on the table, but she will grab anything else that is on it.

She likes to watch Sesame Street, especally when she hears Elmo talk, she watches him and cocks her head back and forth listening to him.

Princess Diamond has decided to not only bring in garden snakes, but throws them up in the air to play with them. She catches them, rolls around with them, throws them again. A few minutes ago, she saw us walking towards her and new we were going to take her new toy away. So, she grabbed it and ran back out the kitty door with it in her mouth. I few minutes later, she was back in and throwing it up in the air, catching it, rolling around with it, wrestling with it, throwing it.....

I don't like snakes!!

Actually, I haven't a clue what kind of snake it is. It looks like an overgrown gray worm and it does stick out its tongue.

Our 11-year old cat, Ren, keeps bringing our DD's (17) makeup brushes out of her room to either our living room, bedroom, or kitchen. You can hear her when she has one in her mouth -- she kind of cat "growls" and then drops it on the floor.

Sometimes she'll go back and get another one. There's 3 that she keeps bringing out. We have NO idea why? (But it's so cute when you see her with it in her little mouth)

Should I start issuing the membership cards or do you want to? :)

DH kept getting after my DD for leaving her rubber bands for her hair all over the floor. DD swore that she didn't do it, that she put them on her dresser or in the bathroom. DH didn't believe her. Until the day we caught the cat with several in his mouth. He steals them and hides them all over the house. I don't know what is with his obsession with hair bands. She now has to put them in a closed container if she doesn't want him to lift them. After all, he knows where she keeps them!

One of my dogs loves to eat bread. We can never leave a loaf of bread out on the cabinet. If it is too close to the edge, she will jump and jump until she can grab the bag and pull it into the floor. She then takes it to a good hiding place, tears it open and eats the loaf! I then find a ripped bag and a moaning dog. It's happened more than once.

Anyone else have a pet that is a thief?

I've posted this before, but my cat Gwen can and will find any rubberband or twisty tie. She will cut the rubberbands up in to tiny pieces and scatter them. After she is done playing with the twisty ties she finds water and puts them in the water (safe keeping?) Her favorite place is 1. the toilet:eek: 2. Zoe's (the dog) water bowl 3. The cats bowl  The other cat Pete will (more like MUST) chew on plastic. His favorites: plastic bag handles, bread bags (the bread is just a bonus), sandwich bags. He also loves boxes, and paper bags. As soon as we empty one grocery bag he tips it over and crawls in to hide and swat anything that walks by. Sometimes he forgets to turn around and just sits in the bag swirling his tail - that of course is sticking out of the bag
