Wide Sandals

Thanks for the tip B-1, I did go look at the Chacos, they look great. They are a little more expensive but look like they hold up well, I may get a pair for my trip!

I bought a pair of Teva sandals at the start of a vacation and wore them everday, all day for a week with no problems. They were the Terra Fi style with an adjustable back strap so I could put my arch where it fit the shoe. At $ 85.00 they are my most expensive shoes. I'll be wearing them to WDW next week!

I also have a Pair of Birkenstocks but they aren't water proof so they don't get get to go this trip.

My vote to SAS as well. They offer a lot of support and are extra-wide (like my feet!)

LandsEnd also has some sandals that come in Wide. I have some slip-ons I use for the pools or resorts and I didn't even need the wide. Now they come in W though.

Just bought great water sandals! My feet are too wide at the toes for Tevas or Birkenstocks. Today I was at a Lands End outlet and bought a set of water sandals. They have adjustable straps like Tevas, but are much wider at the toe.:bounce:

If you get a chance to check out the outlet mall across I-4 from DTD, try the BASS outlet store. I love their sandals and they DO carry wide widths. My S.O. just got a pair for our cruise this coming November. I wear a AA width (can you say narrow) and the sandals are hit and miss....some fit great, some don't fit at all.

I recommend Chaco's... If you have a good outdoor retailer in your area they may be able to take custom fit orders for you... and on top of that Chaco's are the best active sandals made, period!

I just wore my sandals for the first time last sunday in the parks. I have Eastland Sandals and I never thought sandals would be good..thought you would be comfortable only in socks and sneakers, but I was wrong. It was our third day in a row and a full day and they were great.

My feet are wide and I only wear mens sneakers now, womens are too narrow for me, even the wide width ones

I think I paid about $45 for these sandals last year

Tryed on some Chaco's last weekend and loved them. Also tryed on some Keen's and LOVED them. Ended up getting a pair of Keen's for myself, DD 5, DD 10, and DH. May end up getting a pair of Chaco's also before we go....the Keen's are great and super comfortable...the toes are covered....great for hiking, and walking for hour and hours, probley be great for all the atractions at WDW....and there waterproof...but I think I'd also like something to let my toes be free.

Oh yea the Keen's...they are real wide in the toe area...lots of room to wiggle. :D

Found them at Nordstroms and at REI

I love my earthshoes from Walmart. I have two pair now, and we are supposed to be going to WDW in November, and I sure will pack them too. My feet are wide, too, and I find them very comfortable. I've priced other comfy looking shoes online, and have yet to find any as reasonable as these.
Good luck finding shoes!:)

I just bought a pair of Clarks sandals. They're like butter! My feet are wide and I tried on a thousand pairs of sandals until I found one that felt really comfortable without rubbing the tops of my feet uncomfortably. I tried on a bunch of Clarks sandals and they were all like butter. All were on sale at JCPenneys for $49. Worth it because I'll have them for years.

Another vote here for Birkenstocks!
Been wearing them almost exclusively for about 8 years. The width's are "schmal "- means narrow and "normal" which means wide.
My alltime favorite is the 3 strap version and for the first time I have purchased the one that has the "soft footbed".

I am in the process of breaking them in for an upcoming trip. they are marvelous. Big money for these shoes but it is money well spent if you have wide feet. I buy mine from www.Birkenstockcentral.com they offer free shipping on orders over $100, if you choose the standard shipping My order said it would take 7-10 business days to recieve, it took 3 days and arrived by UPS.

Best wishes on your shoe hunt!

I bought a pair of Merrell sandals for our trip in May. They were FANTASTIC! They are treated with microban and are water resistant. I wore them brand new all four days and never got a blister. I was VERY hesitatant to pay 49.00 for a pair of sandals but they are wonderful, and they look great too- mine are tan. I bought them at Gart Sports.

I have a new sandal!!! Its made by KEEN.. He was a sailor for the America's cup.... they are by far the absolute most comfortable sandal I have ever owned!!! I used to wear TEVAS then I went to BIRKS...... but now keen :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Another vote for keen! I bought a pair a couple of weeks ago, and they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned! I love them.:earsboy:

I, too, have wide feet. I swear by my Ecco Cosmos Sandals. They are so comfy and like walking on air. The sole is amazing. It's got a material like moleskins too.

Here's a link to see them and read reviews. Ecco Cosmos

They are pricey but well worth it! You can get them on sale. I bought both of mine on Ebay for about $40.

I loved my birks shoes. Also I have invested in serveral pair of tennis shoes sandels that I loved. I got pair from Kmart on sale a couple weeks a tennis shoe sandel that I loved.

I just bought some Earth Sandals at Walmart, they are wonderful and if you get the kind with the velcro adjustable at three differnt points on your feet...Very soft and good for wide footed people. My DH bought some too as he has very wide feet, and they are available in mens styles too...

I am going to wear them in WDW in September, went back and bought a second pair in case this one wears out this summer before we go...:sunny:
