Brands?

I do not like the very fitted wicking shirts I saw in the women's department at Target! I looked VERY SCARY in them! :scared1:

Plus, what is the deal with the baby built in mittens? Given I'm short the sleeves and mittens hung like three inches past my hands. I looked like something from a Dr. Seuss book.

I tried on one from the men's department thinking it would be looser, but the shoulders hung like three inches too far off the sides. :rotfl2:

Casually looked at Sports Authority and the Nike I saw was like $50. Am I really gonna have to spend that?

Can anyone lead me to a long sleeve wicking shirt for women that isn't like second skin and a decent price?

OMG!!!

For the price - walk over to the men's department at Target - same shirts, better fit... better price than the under armour at sporting goods stores...

for me anyway...

I wear New Balance shirts. They have fitted, semi-fitted and loose cuts. I know you can get some online at Roadrunner Sports. They run between $15 on clearance to $29.95 at our outlet store but I have no idea what they are regular price. I guess we are spoiled here!:goodvibes Sometimes I check the clearance racks at Dick's Sporting Goods and Olympia (the 2 we have in Maine) and I have been able to score some looser fitting tops there too.

Hi,

I have a loose-fit long sleeve shirt that I really like from Gaia Ultimate.

http://www.gaiaultimate.com/pc-22-30-womens-long-sleeve-shirt.aspx

I love their shorts as well. The shirt sells for $40 which is expensive, but if you pay $25 for a yearly membership then it's only $30. It may be worth it if you plan to buy more than 3 items.

The other shirt I have that I absolutely love is from Patagonia. That one goes for $75 which makes the $40 shirt look reasonable. :)

Good luck.

Under Armour is great, but the shirt you pictured is "Heat Gear" for running in hot weather. Since you want it for Cold Weather, look for "Cold Gear". Also, look for Loose Gear in Under Armour, it isn't compression.

Target can be so frustrating because their styles turn over SO quickly. Just about a month ago, I bought a loose-fitting long sleeve there. I wish things would stay the same there for more than 5 minutes. Sorry I am not any help - good luck finding the perfect shirt for you!

Shan-

When you do find the perfect long sleeve shirt, will you let us know?:rotfl: The Target near me doesn't have any long sleeve shirts yet- they have a sort of warm up jacket thing that's wicking (that I bought), and a fleece jacket. Nothing has those thumb hole/mitten things. We must be too hot for the colder stuff.

I did see a cute running vest on sale at runningwarehouse.com (don't forget the discount). I almost bought it, but like you, decided I needed to focus on getting the layer for underneath (surely if it's cold enough for a vest, I'll need a L/S shirt?!) Still, I kind of like the vest idea.

Wow. Least helpful post ever. ;)

Hope you find the perfect shirt out there!

Jen, I did buy a Champion vest at Target, too. I'm in Atlanta so it doesn't get that cold, but still I go out pretty early and I need at least a long sleeve shirt! I just don't want to look like a pig in a blanket - those fitted shirts are awful!!! I've had two big babies, both c-sections. My tummy is like a floppy pillow. :sad2:

:rotfl:

I so feel your pain. I hate anything clingy! I broke down and bought running tights at Target, but I'll probably put some shorts over them because that's just a bit too much to take. ;) I keep thinking maybe I'll have more confidence by the time it's actually cold enough to wear them (that, and it will be darker outside!)

For the record, I saw your pictures from the Race for the Taste, and you did not look like a pig in a blanket!

Both LandsEnd.com and LLBean.com have a good selection of moisture wicking long sleeve tops, both fitted and loose.

Click on "Women's Clothing," and then "Activewear" or "Active Clothing" to see the selections.

Good luck!

Got LandsEnd long sleeve wicking shirt today. I LOVE IT! It is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks to the poster who suggested them! I ordered the petite small. It is still long enough to cover my tummy and is loosely fitted, but yet not hanging off me if that makes any sense. It is perfect! It feels soft, too. :thumbsup2

Now I'm waiting on the LLBean shirt I ordered. I will be surprised if I like it as much.

How great is it to have a running fashion scout!:cool1: It's still ridiculously hot here, but I'm definitely going to check your new favorite shirt out soon!

Do you find you only want to buy running clothes now? The last two times I've been to Target the rest of my peeps have bought/wanted all sorts of random stuff, and I've just been in the C9 section!

Thanks
