buy them at the gate?

I would never buy from ebay but when I was looking for some Disney items on ebay (NOT tickets) an auction for 4 one day hoppers came up and current bid is $440.

HUH?

I've won these tickets at least 3 times at different chinese auctions and have always put them up for bid on ebay and usually average about 450.00 each time I sell a set. I am going to a chinese auction again in 2 weeks and I am going to put in to try to win them again-I am going to disney and have tix as part of my package s o Iwould sell the ones I won and use it toweards my disney trip!

A one day hopper is $120. So, I guess someone sees a small savings in buying these.

Personally, I wouldn't do it, seems like a way to lose $440 for a chance to save $40.

The value of a one-day adult hopper is $127.80 (including tax). Often these are tickets which have been given by Disney to non-profit organizations for fund raising. They are then sold by the non-profit group. So the Gate value of four one-day adult hoppers is $511.20.

The thing is these tickets cannot be modified or upgraded in any manner.

For a person who needs one day only these are a good bargain.

Aprilgail2 has a good, legitimate, way to make money for her Disney trips, as unused tickets are freely transferable.

OH! I thought they were in the $85 range.

Ok, I see.

I have no idea what a Chinese auction is.

$85 is without the hopper, but I have seen tickets on ebay that were the same or slightly over the gate price at WDW. All I can do is scratch my head and guess that people think that tickets are even more expensive than the actually are. That, or they just get excited about winning things on ebay that they lose focus on the worth of the items.

Or they have Ebay gift cards that they want to use up.

I have NO idea. I sell on ebay and for auctions, I have had quite a few people bid on things that were less expensive new than what they were placing their bid on to me :confused3

I think some people just think that if it is on ebay, it must be a deal :confused
Not sure but no matter what I am looking for, even if a book, I always look up new/used and see what they go for...I guess some people just don't.

Also, some people do have ebucks so if they have a lot of ebucks they can purchase an item that technically is same price or more expensive somewhere else but the ebucks (like a gc) is covering what they would have paid.

.

I just bought a board game on ebay this week-- I am sure the stupid game was like 15.00 in the 80's when it was around but I just paid 214.00 for it! My friends husband goes on and on about this game he used to love and he would love to play it with his kids so his wife asked me to order it as a gift for him from her LOL. I will sure as heck be looking for this one game at any yard sales I see because I will be sure to put it up on ebay since all of the ones on there were going between 200-300 each!!!

Well, now I need to know what game it is!
