Why would I want to live in Orlando?

I was playing Slingo a little while ago, and someone in the room lives in Orlando. When I mentioned that I would love to move there they asked..."why?" WHY? The land of the Mouse!

Depending on DH's job we may be in Orlando by August...everyone who knows me would never ask why (even if it wasn't about the job!)

Well, it may depend on "where" in Orlando. I used to live off of Orange Blossom Trail, in between two strip clubs, with another one across the street. Lots of drug deals in our apartment complex. I don't know how many times my roommate and I were accosted.

But there are nicer places! We just couldn't afford them. (We were 18.)

There are quite a few locals who live here that HATE Disney and what they say it did to their quiet little town. I guess Disney did change the area a bunch over the years.....

I guess if the long-time locals don't like it here they can move NORTH!! That area if OBT is still pretty bad..strip clubs and hookers......BECAUSE SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT'S HOW I KNOW..

For the most part Orlando is beautiful.....

That's true! It had to have been quite a change for those living there prior to WDW.

I love living in Orlando! But just because I live here doesn't mean I get to go all the time to Disney. The rates are just ridiculous, but there is always fl res rates--we got a great deal on our cruise last year!

OBT is NOT where you want to be...for sure. "*****lando"...love it!!

What a shame! Orange Blossom Trail...such a nice sounding street. Much better than "42nd Street" in NYC.

OBT is Orange Blossom Trail, also SR 441. It leads into some scary areas.

We had other names for OBT as well, think mainly a feminie hygiene product.
