Is it that the only moderate that can accomodate 5 is POR, and I've already stayed there.

Why can't AKL or WL accomodate 5 w/o a deluxe room?

Don't get me wrong, I love the deluxes, but want more options for less expensive trips.

I've only stayed GF, Poly and Dixie Landings.

I'd love to try another moderate or "light" deluxe.

Not interested at all in 2 value rooms!!!

Didn't care for Dixie Landing, too large and spread out.

Just wanted to vent my frustration for the lack of options for 5!!! :charac2:

Michele

It stinks terribly, doesn't it!!

I don't find it fair at all that being a family of five, we would have to spend more $$ a night, when Disney is already getting a whole other couple meals a day, a whole other ticket, etc. The least they could do is provide cheap rooms for those of us with larger families!! I guess in that situation they really aren't concerned about their guests, just the money they receive!

I'm glad to know I 'm not the only one who gets angry with Disney about this!

As the mom of 3 kids, I feel your pain....but its really most likely a demographic thing. What is the average family size in the US these days? The last I recall seeing it was 2 adults, 2 children. Or some small decimal point over 2 children. They are currently offering accomodations for 5 in the room in the proportion they are able to sell them, in all likelihood. If the demographic of their average visiting family changes, I would bet they'd add trundles to more moderate rooms (or even the WL or AKL rooms). As it is, I think they often give trundle rooms to those who don't request them.

I love POR....and until my little one is 3 we're doing fine in the DVC 1br's....but I almost can't wait until I have to get a nice deluxe room...its a good excuse to splurge!

It also has to do with economics from the building stage in the first place... if the rooms were larger, than it could accomadate a pull out, or twin bed rollaway that is... but as they are that is a fire hazard... and as stated most families have 2 kids, 2 adults, so by that method if they did charge an outrageous amount for that rollaway, say $30 a night, it wouldnt in the long run put the dollars in the bank...

well, now we are a family of five, and we save by our teenagers not coming :( (They are counselors in a camp for the summer, they are not at home alone just in case anyone was wondering! :) )

Try CR--VERY large with 2 queens and a daybed. The price of the garden wing rooms are considerably less. Swan/Dolphin also can accommodate 5 if you have a rollaway, and they offer great discounts if you watch out for them.
