Why were they so desperate to buy our Disney Tickets

Hi Everyone.
Not long back from WDW and already planning for a return. Also i have to thank everyone for their advise and suggestions while there and some of them came in very useful.
Anyway the day before we were due to leave one of the ticket sellers in Sizzlers on the 192 asked if he could buy my tickets from me as it was a parting gift from Disney. I wriggled my way out of it by saying i had left them in the Villa, also on the day we were leaving i went to put a few dollars of fuel in the car to get us to the airport and was approached again by a ticket seller who offered the same thing. Has anybody else come across this and is this a genuine deal as we were very tempted the second time but stopped ourselves incase of fraud or something similar as the tickets have out name on them and our fingerprint at the entry gates at Disney and Universal.
Its puzzled me since we got back as we could have made a little few BUCKS out of them, they just ended up in the bin.

this happened to us when we were there too, was approached at least 5 times by different men trying to get us to sell us our tickets?? I couldn't imagine why they would want them when they had been used and to be honest they made me feel uneasy so I made my excuses and held onto my tickets.. I am curious to see if anyone has actually sold their tickets?

Same here too.I was just wondering what on earth they would do with them as i thought only you could use them as you are finger skanned on first use.

Could they copy bar code and make fake ones? Don't know but glad for the warning.

We had this too when filling up petrol at the shell garage opposite the Fairfield in LBV. It was like our 7th day in so we just said we are still using them and drove off after paying. I think they may do it more when they see we are british? maybe to do with us having access to ultimate tickets.

On one of our first visits a few years back, we had purchased flexi tickets from a ticket booth in ponderosa on the 192, he told us he would buy them back if they had any time left on them, we thought it was just him trying to make the sale, but when we left there were about 3-4 days left and he gave us about $60-70 back. at the time i couldn't figure what he did with them or if he as an agent had a way of getting a refund, but it helped pay to get our photo's developed, how easy digital has now made our lives. Have I done it since, no, I think I am now more aware of possible scams etc.

Sadly, there are plenty of these resale merchants along the main tourist areas, looking to take advantage of naive tourists. They are quite happy to buy up 'unused' tickets in this way (even though it is borderline illegal) and then put them in re-sale ticket offices (or give them away as supposedly 'free' tickets at timeshare companies), knowing that the tickets are strictly NOT supposed to be used other than by the original buyer, whether they have days left or not. One of the reasons Disney (and now Universal and SW) introduced their finger-scanners was to try to weed out this process. Sometimes the tickets WILL work for the few days left on them, but quite often they won't (especially if they are sold as 'unused' tickets as some unscrupulous outlets do), and very often they are spotted as re-sales by park staff at the ticket turnstiles and are confiscated (the terms of sale are very clear about not allowing them to be re-sold). This can certainly impact unsuspecting families looking to save a few $$$s, but we can't emphasise enough that people must ONLY buy their tickets from official sources (preferably before they leave the UK), like Attraction Tickets Direct, Keith Prowse, Orlando Ticket Deals, Theme Park Tickets Direct, etc.
