Why two?

So they're building a new Mets Stadium......

Right next to the old one. It looks stupid because there are two huge baseball stadiums right next to each other.

It sort of annoys me that this large amount of land is being used for another stadium, when it can be used for homes and such. I personally thinks it's a waste.

Any opinions?

ITA with you Pirate. Why have TWO baseball stadiums for the SAME team? Especially if they're right next to each other.

The old stadium is really run down. I stopped going 2 so many met games cause it got so bad. I drive buy the 2 stadiums occasionaly. I didnt know that the other stadium is a landmark. Its news 2 me

Well I think we need to understand that Shea Stadium has been here since 1964.
Thats 43 years. It is a land mark.

And I thought they were knocking it down ?

But anyway I personally might cry when they knock it down, I have had so many fun memories there.

I've been to a game once in June, once in July, once in August, and once in September, this year and every time I went I had fun memories.(And many other times when I wa younger)

So personally I think thats why two, people have had amazing memories, and it kinda crushes you to think of something you've had so much fun in not being there anymore. Sure Citi field will be nice and new, but it wont have the same memories as Shea.
