What are they doing to Splash that it requires sooo long a closure?? And I agree from another thread Easter is a crowded time I'm surprised Splash and FantasMic will both be down.

They are replacing the lift mechanics. I'm hoping the "early May" prediction is off by a bit. We come home on May 1. Hopefully they'll be ahead of schedule! But, I not to sad if we miss it. It is not a MUST do for me.

yea, the lift mechnism is waaay too told... also the launch area is also waaay too dangerous... its controlled by the CM 100% instead of a computer.

I am also hoping that it opens a few days early. We are going April 24-28th.

Heck, while we're at it: maybe they're ready by April 15 for my trip. :rotfl2:

Maybe there will be tons & tons of pixie dust and it will be open for the first week of APril and Easter.:wizard:

Well, while they are at it, the sound system sure could use replacing and the whole thing just needs cleaning up...it is one of the disappointments of the whole WDW vs. DL conundrum. WDW is so much better, DL doesn't even have a story to it, just a bunch of disjointed scenes. The queue could use theming as well....the queue at WDW has those lovely samplers of SOTS characters and it keeps your interest while those long waits. But again, I think sometimes these days the theming is cast aside because
a) people don't pay any attention to it anyway (too busy talking on cellphones while waiting)
b) costs money
c) requires more creativity, Imagineering (again = more money)

I just don't think people know the history of Song of the South anymore, with all the PC stuff going around. Now, you've all probably guessed I love Jack Sparrow (and his creator Johnny Depp) to the max. But enough is enough....my fear is that Splash will go the way of TS Island and soon we'll be riding Pirate Mountain pirate: or something innocuous like that. We all know that if Disney thinks a buck is to be made from it...well, you know....:rolleyes1
