My husband I are thinking of taking a trip to Disney World - just the two of us (our boys are grown). I started to look for resort options in November and there is very little available. Is there something going on?

Well what are your dates?
Wine and Dine marathon is happening the first weekend.
Jersey week is sometime around then.
Beginning of MVMCP is in the second week.
End of F&W
Veterans Day is November 11th.
Thanksgiving is the 22nd so a bit early.
Free dining happening 24th to 27th
Christmas Parade taping is probably in there somewhere too.

Thank you - I picked November bc when I initially started looking into this lots of sites were saying the first two weeks of November and first two weeks of December were ideal times to go. Should have checked here first. Thank you again

Basically in the last few years peak times and slow times have really been switched up.
Summer is the new slow time and October/first half of November are quite busy.

November has been a roller coaster with crowds over the last few years. There are still some nice dates in there, but they come in 3-4 day chunks.

It’s a month away, naturally it’s going to be busier. Also lots of conventions and what not

Yes, those websites haven't updated their advice in 10 years as I remember reading the same thing back in 2008 when I planned our first family trip. But everyone plans their trips online now, and reads those same advice websites, and therefore thinks that's still the best time to go... so now fall is WDW's busiest season.

I agree. We have been there from the weekend of Veteran's day to the Saturday before thanksgiving a couple of times. Monday-Thursday of that week are OK.

None of those 3rd party sites have access to Disney's reservation system and as indicated above, some update their info more often then others. Most use 'formulas'/historical data and educated guesses to create their forecasts. While some are going to be better then others, I would only use them as guidance.

That's the week we usually target. The surrounding weekends are busy, but the weekdays are nice.

Those dates were the low season at one time, but that hasn't been true in many years. The fall is now one of the busiest times of year to go.
