Why Should Mickey Mouse get all the write-ins?

First off.... this thread is started in good fun. It is not meant as a place to insult any legitimate candidates for office or political parties.


Now, with that said.....

I found myself having quite an interesting conversation on facebook Tuesday evening. It all started with a comment on an update someone I know made on their Facebook status.

I Just Voted. I Sure hope that Mickey Mouse wins one of the races I wrote him in for.

Of Course, I could let this stand unanswered! So i replied and asked him why he would vote for Mickey Mouse, when Donald Duck was obviously the better candidate for the position.

Next thing I know, We have people saying they want Minnie because they want the female perspective in office, And others saying Daisy would be the best fit because of her proven ability to calm those blowing their tops and actually get them to listen to reason.

And of course..... there was an obligatory "I Voted for Dumbo" comment.


Is my Love for all things Disney so bad that I can actually get involved in a political debate arguing the virtues of one Disney Character over another? (And that I can take the case of why does Mickey get all the write ins?) Am I the only one who's ever somehow gotten involved in one of these discussions? or is anybody else here off enough that they've had a similar conversation?

I used to work for the board of elections in NJ... and one year they had to redo all of the seats on the Board of Freeholders...

Years ago when I lived in FLA we had a woman Senator. I voted for her once. Running for her next election she was in Orlando doing a TV show. She walked backwards off the stage, fell and got a boo boo. She sued the TV station because she walked backwards off the stage.

The twit running against her I could not vote for either. I was stuck with voting for a dufus, I would not insult Dumbo to call the other candidate Dumbo, or this twit who blames someone else for causing her to walk backwards off a stage....

So Mickey was my vote.

I think the backwards walking bozo won.

Oh Well. Mickey would have been better.
