I see people purchasing 25 point contracts at GF villas. I am sure there is a reason I am not seeing. Can someone tell me the reason behind this?

Thank you

By banking and borrowing points from the year ahead/behind, you can put together enough points to stay a few nights in a studio every few years.

Me for example... I purchased 70 points. It's enough for me to combine two years of points together and stay 3 nights (2 studios) during the time of year I like to go, every other year.

The other times of the year I go, I use my other BCV contract.

I want to buy 50 points to stay once every 3 years in a 1 bedroom for 3 nights. We would do the pakrs from our AKV contract and then have three nights at the end to chill and go to our favorite restaurants.

basically what others said -
I have 200 pts at AKV, and I love AKV
I bought 25 pts at VGF...to tack on 2 studio nights (every other year) at the end of my AKV trip...

Maybe they don't want to finance, and they don't want to spend a lot of money all at once?

Easier to sell and will to kids if they want it. I just bought a 50, 35, 25, 25, 25 (160 total) at GFV. For both reasons.

Was that 5 separate closing costs? Eek.

When the poly comes out I will buy enough points for 4 nights every other yr. in a studio. for adult only trips. Maybe for fF and W or off season. It will be a small contract ( hopefully. Lol).

I cannot see a non previous owner buying say 25 points. . Except to own and transfer in other points. :). But certainly 65-75 points would be enough for studio trips every other/ every third yr.

They were very minimal since I purchased all at once but had them just split up the contracts

They may want to reap the benefits/discounts of being a DVC member without ponying up the cash..

We've been growing our ownership over time through small contracts as well.
Did an original purchase of 75 points at BLT in 2010. Added 50 more through resale in 2011. Now, just sent off the deposit check for another 50 that will hopefully be ours in 60 days or less.

We seem to like to grow into our resorts. Originally we thought 75 would allow a studio stay every other year at BLT. Now, we're finding we'd rather either have a 1BR or be able to take friends and family and the 175 is better for getting a 2BR in certain seasons every other year.

Not sure where I want to be at BLT, but probably in that 200-275 range. Hard to say. We never thought we'd buy outside of BWV before BLT. Maybe we'll call it quits at BLT and buy when it's the Poly or the cruise line (making that up, but it sounds cool).

I wouldn't mind having more points than we need every year and renting out the excess to offset our dues. In years we want a big family trip - we have the points and in years we don't, we can subsidize the cost.

But, I don't think I'd ever want a contract bigger than 50-75 points. The flexability is just too nice in smaller contracts.
