Why only 10 at Sunset Pointe?

I need some history...why is there only 10 guests allowed for an Intimate at Poly now? It is just a little field out next to the lake; I can't think of any decent reason why you can't have a couple more chairs out there. Is it just an easy way to cut down on the number of requests for that location? I have watched some of stvs videos at Sunset Pointe and counted 15-20 people in attendance.

I want to do a VR for my 10th anniversary in Feb, 2007. I really, really want to do it on the beach in Hawaii, but my DH refuses to sit on an airplane that long. He also wants our kids to be with us. SO, the Poly seemed the perfect alternative to a Disney-ite like me!!

If our family all comes, we will be right at 10 people. However, one of my bridesmaids and her family as well as a groomsman and his family have both moved to Orlando. Of course we would want to invite them!! That would add another 7 people to the list.

I am really torn!! I want both!! Do you guys have any suggestions? :confused3

Thanks! Chrissie

Chrissie...

Talk to your EM.

I have heard of past brides having lots of people at Sunset Pointe (I once read about someone having 75 people there).

But I have since heard they are limiting the number of people because Sunset Point is kind of on a hill. And placing chairs and the table for the cake cutting/champagne can make it kind of crowded and possibly even dangerous.

Like I said, ask your EM...tell them your situation and possible number of people and see if something can be worked out.

To be honest, I don't think you would necessarily even need that many chairs. Most of the ceremonies only take about a half hour, and that's including the cake cutting and champagne. My guess is that unless someone has a medical problem and can't stand for too long, some of the guests could stand most of the time...just my thoughts...

I am in the same boat as you and I undestand. We are having 17 in our group also and of that 17 6 are in the wedding so why cant my other 11 sit or stand there. I am going to pray that I get a EM that will allow us there.

Chrissiereiss, see if you can hold the vow renewal on the beach of either the Poly, the Grand Floridian, the Wilderness Lodge, or the Beach Club. If the FTW folks will allow that, I bet you can have more than 10 people at your ceremony. It's certainly worth a shot.
