Why on earth is Figment so popular at Epcot?

I've always loved Figment. Like Orange Bird, it's about the nostalgia for me.

I'm a 70s kid and grew up going to WDW. My dad had an Epcot vanity plate on his car before it opened. We were so excited about a 2nd park opening! I bought a Figment baseball cap on our first visit. I wonder what happened to that?

I've always adored Figment. He's just adorable. But, beyond that, the original ride was very imaginative and a lot of fun and the post-ride area was entertaining. Plus that catchy tune!

But no more. I went on the ride recently to see if I still felt the same way I did the last time I rode it, and it was even worse than I'd remembered . . . and I like Eric Idle.

Figment was our son's absolute favorite from our first visit in 1990. We still have the Figment nightlight from that visit and it still works!!! And even though I don't care for the current version of the ride I still take the time to do it every trip for old times' sake.

You're a lot stronger than I am. I just can't bear going on it anymore. It makes me so sad.
