Why on earth is everything booked....

I agree, it's super weird!! I even think i may have made a post about this exact same thing this summer. After we had our booked in June, then the Rise of Resistance opening was announced, i thought maybe Disney was holding back rooms related to that, but nothing ever opened up. Then last week there were room openings showing during our travel dates for nearly every resort under the holiday offer, so i assumed they released more rooms. Since i have an unactivated pass, I have to call to get passholder rates, when I called they told me they were undergoing system enhancements and to call back later. Once 'system enhancments" were completed it went back to zero availability. Full payment of packages are due at the end of this month for our travel dates, so maybe additional rooms will open up when people don't pay for their trips. I'm just glad I have a room booked on property, not our first choice, but happy we have something.

I saw this same exact thing! I was able to get the holiday discount applied to 5 of our 6 rooms online (around 5:30 AM) then the site went down for a bit, then about an hour later I called (~9am) and they were able to add the discount to our last room. I checked the website at lunch and by then it was back to zero availability 😳

I would keep checking as people change and cancel something will open up. I decided last month to go next week oct 30 to nov 4 and could only get 2 nights on site then 2 off then 1 back on. A week or so of checking and I was able to get all 5 nights with the ap rate at pop, which is where I'd wanted to stay.

I looked at all combos of 5, 3 or 2 nights trying to make it work too. We were ok with moving around if we had to.

There was one day last week that all sorts of rooms were available at all levels but when I tried to book it said something to the effect that booking system was currently unavailable and to try later.

EDIT: Same room available on Disneyworld.com Shows no availabilty in initial search but if you click on the All Stars Movies it's available for even less.

Not sure if you ever joined that Club1hotes but they have All Stars for $156 + tax ($707 all in)

I did join. How did you find that? I tried to search for it but can’t find it.

You need to search for Orlando in hotel destination field and when the results load, on the left side you check the WALT DISNEY WORLD hotels box under the BRAND filter.

Thanks....found it. When I looked the first time I missed the WDW box. I scanned that filter but just didn't see it.

I've booked a flight and we are now staying from the 4th-9th. I'm temped to book that room and then try to find something else for the last night but I think at this point I will continue to watch. The deadline for package cancelations is only a few days away.

I've been going the beginning of December since 1998. It's always booked up early. People want to be onsite for the Christmas activities, weekends especially. You'll see this thread every year.

Pop Warner is December 7 to 14 this year, later than usual because of the late Thanksgiving.

November and December are the “it” months to travel these days. It’s a complete reversal of the past when Disney was packed in the summer and empty in winter.

Never understood the packed part in the summer. People that live in Florida dont even want to be outside in that heat. I can't imagine "touring" in it. :hyper2:

Simple. Schools out. We wish we could burn a coupe non-school summer weeks at Disney, but its just too hot for us.

I'll just add I was able to book a room for one night (saturday after thanksgiving. Decided to spring for an extra night before going full swing into the parks) for AKL through Undercover Tourist. You can check availability there and get cheaper rates than if you were to book through Disney (that one night was $2 less the current discount WDW is offering). There are other solid third party sites to check too that other experts on here can tell you about. I'm just most familiar with UT.

Schools out and if your mom is a teacher (like mine) that's really the only time you can go away.
Now that I'm in the "real world" summer has a slower workload so it's easier to justify being gone.

I’ve been there before during Pop Warner and it was not my choice but rather the only time I could go. I booked a room without any trouble.

Free dining was available for that time, we grabbed it when it came out. What's funny is that crowd levels aren't expected to be crazy that time yet, except on weekends. I assume that means everyone is staying on site lol.

Very late last night I got a reservation for 4 of my 5 nights at ASMo. I had checked 4 times yesterday and for some unknown reason I checked again around 11pm. Earlier in the day there was a POR Royal room available for the last night that I need but of course after I booked there was nothing except for the rooms that are over $1000/night. So I'll keep checking to get something for that one night but also a single Ressie for 5 nights which is what I would prefer.

I am also having troubles for Nov 2020 ! I want to book 2-3 nights before our cruise. Ofcourse, it happens to be (1) a weekend and (2) Halloween weekend !! So, on top of increased rates as it is, I am looking at weekend rates ;-(
I also seem NO availability with 2 nights, but then some pops up when I search 3 nights. :confused3

I just looked and there are several, including ASMu and a FW cabin. I went this time of year two years ago, 2 months away from the trip I looked in to adding a few days on to the end and couldn't find anything, everywhere was booked solid. To date that is the most crowded time I have ever gone (still haven't gone AT christmas, but after dealing with those crowds I'm not too scared of holidays anymore). You end up with a perfect storm of events leading to low availability: people rescheduling trips after a hurricane (that is what happened during our trip), Pop warner stuff, and Christmas. It used to be that time of year was one of the best to go, the first two weeks of december were great, but I think word got out and now it's just not anymore.

What has worked for me was to add more days then you need when searching. There seems to be more available with a few days more added. Book it and call to take some days off the reservation.

We used to travel the second week of Dec. for the last few years. Touring was really nice, low-ish crowds and great weather. This year (luckily) we had to change our trip to June. I think Oct-Dec has become the "hot ticket" these days. I'm hoping early June will be tolerable.
