Why No WL Fax Requests?

I have always been given all of my requests at check in , and I always thought it was because I sent a fax ahead. I remember reading here that WL does not accept faxes...

Is this true? And why?

Is is only WL? (It is safe to fax PO or BC?)

And finally, is it "Well it won't hurt either way" OR "Definitely, absolutely, do not fax WL"?

I think in terms of WL....absolutely do not fax. They were the first resort to stop taking faxed requests I think. Having said that, it is my understanding that faxed requests are basically ignored and that the room assignor relies only on the requests that are on your reservation.

I think the room assigners were inundated with room requests and I believe they have stopped them at all resorts.

I think the intenet is to blame... Lots of folks heard about this and the volume got too much to handle.

I have never sent a fax and never had a problem getting my room requests filled.
