I am curious as to what attraction people think is long overdue for a permanent refurbishment. Many rides are on the rumor list at various parks to be replaced so what is the consensus here. Again only one answer is allowed. For me it is easy

Stich ride.

I'll start a list, but chose only 1…..

MK: Stich, Tom Sayer Island, Swiss Family Treehouse, un-themed Riverboat

EP: Captain EO (I won't miss Maelstrom)

HS: Jack Sparrow (r.i.p.)

AK: Primeval Whirl (48" height requirement in DinoLand)

……and the loser is…………..Stitch…..because it can cause children to cry in fear.

STITCH

I have been traumatized by the faces of terrified children in that attraction.

Stitch is on top of my list. The attraction under both it's Alien Encounter and Stitch iterations is unnecessarily frightening, claustrophobic and lacks qualities appropriate for a Future World attraction. The space could be better utilized as a Space themed dark ride.

Buzz Lightyear at bare minimum needs a serious upgrade, he Disneyland version is far better.

Then I would say Stitch, Tiki Room and Pirates at Disney World......they are all pretty bad when compared with Disneylands version.

DCA Silly Symphony Swings
Disneyland....Winnie the Pooh and bring back Country Bears. Otherwise all of toontown, except Roger Rabbit and rebuild a good updated version

Swiss Family Treehouse
I'm pretty sure the Treehouse remains solely for my personal enjoyment. :p
I hope it always does. To remove it would be like removing the hat from HS, oh wait... :lmao:
No, I seriously do like it.

Captain EO, on the other hand... I'm shocked that it is still there. :crazy2:

As this Thread gets longer, I'm certain someone's 'favorite' will be another person's 'worst'…..and vice versa.

For instance, my best friend get nauseated when I say, "it's a small world….," we love it. My child enjoys the Tiki Room (so do I). I get quite nostalgic at Carousel of Progress (I was born near and around time of 1964 World's Fair), etc.

STITCH. That ride is awful.

It's Tough to be a Bug needs to go too. That ride traumatized me when I was nine and I absolutely refuse to go back. I will never ride it ever again.

EO needs to go too.

They need to bring back Alien Encounter. Say what you will but their was nothing else like it.

I agree Alien Encounter was a unique attraction. Was it unnecessarily frightening? I'm not sure. As Alien Encounter it had a 44" height requirement (which dropped to 40" for Stitch) for a show. The one thing I do know is there is not enough room for a dark ride. By my estimation, Stitch takes up less than half of the space of The Little Mermaid ride. Maybe they could put in another princess meet and greet. That's what happened when people complained that Snow Whites Adventure was too scary.

I guess that for me it depends on what we mean by "permanent refurb". My answer is different depending on if we are talking about a simple update (like they do with Splash Mountain each you), a major update/change (such as the one they did with Pirates or Haunted Mansion), or completely redoing the ride to be something different entirely (such as what is going on with Maelstrom into Frozen).

Simple update: Great Movie Ride. It's my favorite ride in all of the parks and even I can't deny that it could use some help to get the animatronics to not be all shiny and move a little bit more smoothly.

Major update/change: Stitch. I think that they can redo it to were it is similar to what it currently is, but either isn't as terrifying to small children or doesn't have Stitch in the title to make them believe it is a good ride for them.

Complete redo: Captain EO. Come on. It was all the latest technology when they originally did it.... back in 1986. To give some perspective on how old that is, that was when Hands Across America occurred. That was the year that United Kingdom and France announced plans to construct the English Channel. My Buddy and Kid Sister came out that year. The very first disposable camera came out that year. Yeah... stuff has happened since then and it is incredibly dated. It has no business being in Future World.
