why is this rate so high?

Ok I am trying to figure this out. I have a current ressie for 2 adults, July 26, room only, the a package for July 27-Aug 6 (10 nights) at POP, standard, 10 day Park hopper with dining(no free deal) but have the 4/3 deal. total is:

room only 129.37 July 26
package 2303.84 Aug 27-Aug 6
total 2433.21

so I was thinking I could extend it because I should get the 3 days free twice, right? why wouldn't I do 2, 7 day ressie's So I went on special offers to check it out. And it's way high I get the dining is high twice, but man!! Am I missing something?

Aug 1- Aug 8 no dining- 1095.12 W/dining 1654.89
total 3229.89 (796.68 more for 2 day that are free days lol (except dining) )

I am flexible with time. I was trying to do more week days than weekends though, leaving Sunday instead of a Saturday to make that work. Other than that, I am open to ideas of how to save, but stay longer

I'm no expert, but I would imagine that it's the cost of tickets that's making it more expensive. Adding extra days to a tickets is fairly cheap after the first 4 days. With the second deal, are you buying two seven day tickets? Can you try it with a ten day ticket and a one day ticket?

Hi. I checked it out. I think you may be having trouble because the package is an offer for 7 nights and only include a base ticket for each day and it does not include dining so you will pay the dining rate over the number of nights you are there. If you choose 7/26- 8/2 (7 nights) it will be 988.60 + food (1 table and 1 counter and 1 snack each day) which totals 1548.46 for 2 adults in a standard room. If you add the second week to get the deal again, you'll be charged the same price and you'll be spending 14 nights instead of 10. So, the grand total would be 3096.92.
If you go from 7/26-8/5 for the ten nights with a ten day base pass and the same dining plan in a preferred room, you will pay 2315.94. If you want a standard room subtract 118.60, so it's 2197.34. You could lower the price a little more (not much) if you just did the 7 day pass.

Yes, I agree that the tickets are what gets you x 2.

Well you could book the 10 night package deal. Add a few days to those tickets whilst you are there. Book a separate ressie for the remaining nights you want with AAA discount or other Disney room-only discount. Of course you won't be able to get dining for the extra nights without buying another set of 1 day tickets but on other threads they are saying if you don't use them then they can be used for a future trip.

Also I think the deal favors the more expensive resorts - the free days have a greater impact on the total than the values.

Thanks! I think your right, its the tickets and dining 2 times. days of tickets drop so much that I am not seeing it there. makes sense.

I am thinking, maybe add a room only instead. That could work just fine too.

Hey Miss Missy!! I am going at ALMOST the exact same time as you and staying at POP. I am going July 25-Aug 1 & Aug 1-Aug 8. I did first week 10 day base tickets and 2nd week 1 day base tickets with QS dining plan for 3 adults (1 is disney adult) 1 child. It is $3675. total. I still have to convert that to Canadian that is where it starts to get expensive but oh well what can you do, it is still within my budget....lol! Maybe we will see each other
