Why is this a "Christmas" song?

"My Favorite Things" from "Sound of Music" has absolutely nothing to do with Christmas. Yet it's considered a Christmas song. Why?

I have never thought of it as a Christmas song. I suppose the idea of "favorite things" could be Christmas-y. It seems more Oprah-y to me.

I love that song and never realised it didn't have anything to do with Christmas. Thats when I always hear it!

I have heard it played on the "all Christmas music, all the time" radio station...I guess they need all the Christmas songs they can get!!

I never thought of it as a Christmas song. Although watching The Sound of Music on TV is something we've done at Christmas time since its been on the air. Don't know why we still bother since we own it on VHS and DVD but it is kind of a tradition.

I like that much more for a Christmas song that George Micheals song, "Last Christmas". That song makes me NUTS!! It's not about Christmas, it about (last Christmas I gave you my heart....) Blah, blah...I don't care who you are trying to date, this is not a Christmas song!!
