I was driving from MGM to DTD the other day and noticed on one of the road signs (that lists all the attractions for the direction you are traveling) that it said River Country, shouldn't this have been removed a long time ago?

Well the park itself is still there it's just not open. There is always hope that they will do something with the property.

Isn't it strange that the River Country signage is still there after 2 years, but the signage for Port Orleans French Quarter has been removed after 2 months?

I did notice contruction tape outside of one of the buildings at French Quarter when driving by yesterday, so hopefully they are working hard to reopen my favorite moderate as soon as possible!

I have it on good authority that all references to River Country will be removed from WDW road signage in the coming months. River Country is pretty much a dead issue as a water park. The rumblings is that WDI is looking to make part or all of River Country into a feature pool area for Fort Wilderness, much like all the older Magic Kingdom resorts have gotten new feature pools in the last few years (CR, GF, and Poly).
