Why is the rate coming up higher than rack rate?

Hi,
I'm just curious... I looked on WDW info and for the time we'd be going (June 2005) it shows the rack rate for a value at $99, rack rate for preferred room at $111 for that time period.

Then can anyone help me figure out why if you go through the booking process for room only online at Disney -for that date- it shows a price of $111.87 per day for the room (not preferred)??? That's higher than WDWinfo is showing as the rack rate for that room- so I don't get it. and I know it's not making it preferred for some reason- because it adds the option you can choose underneath with additional price if you want preferred room.

Also, is there an AP rate for that time period? Asking because if so, maybe it would be worth it for one of us to get an AP (namely the oldest child that I'm going to have to purchase her an adult ticket anyway)

Hmm.. I would guess that maybe you are being quoted the price including the room taxes and what not. That's my best guess.

Also, there are no AP discounts/codes for that time period yet. However, many are anxiously awaiting them so just keep checking here and over at Mousesavers.com

Good Luck!

I would say the $111 price includes the tax whereas the $99 is pre tax rate

It is with the tax added because I was trying all different combinations on the disney site yesterday for an upcoming trip and the $111.83 is with tax on a $99.00 room.

Oh, okay. That makes sense- I was thinking that was the price and tax would be added later! Thanks for clearing that up for me- appreciate it! :)

(ps. it was also confusing when you add tickets to a room- it says a price for the tickets you choose -after already showing the price for the room alone- but then when you click "continue" after picking the tickets the two don't add up right. I mean like the tickets- for example only- might say something like $763 but when you click continue it's adding like $774 to the price it'd just given you for the room alone. So is the room showing with taxes included but the prices they show for you to choose the tickets shown as ticket prices without tax and they add it when you click continue after choosing your tickets?
Sorry if that sounds confusing- hard to explain. It's just not adding up right each time though. LOL)
