Just curious! I have disected every 7-day cruise wether it's the 7-day Western, 7-day Eastern, 3-day land 4 day Sea, 4-day land 3-day sea, Costa Maya and all cruises in-between for the September 16th. 06 Cruises. I know that this is huricane season but I thought so was Oct,Nov. etc...
But the Sept. 16th 06 Costa Maya 7 day cruise comes out way less $$$$'s than all the other cruises. Just wondering if anyone knows why? Not that I'm complaining, just curious.
Thank You

the only thing I can think of is it is the height of hurricane season. :confused3

I better re-think the low price vs height of hurricane season. I did think of that but all the other cruises in Sept are high price compared to the Costa Maya? Just interesting or maybe they arn't feeding us? (just kidding)

MamalleI ment to say that,
You have a BEAUTIFUL Family.. I just bought my Grandaughter the Esmeralda Costume on e-bay the other day. I Love it. The Pirate theme is so cute.

thank you chatty. those were the kids two fav costumes on the cruise.

I'm sure that being hurricane season has something to do with it, but I notice that most things connected to Disney really seem to revolve around school more than anything else. I know many people take their kids out of school for trips, but surely the vast majority of trips are taken when kids are out of school. A lot of people have fall breaks now, which would account for October. I think that early Sept. is so cheap because people have just started back to school and it's almost "too soon" to take their kids out.

Do you think that's it????

I think the reasoning is (1) It's value season = lower price (2) this cruise will be making two stops at Castaway Cay, so I'm guessing the port charges for this cruise is also lower. These are JMHO!!!

It is value season because of possible hurricane, school has just started back for most kids, therefore demand is low, and what one poster hit on, since 2 stops are CC I would think port charges are lower. Another cheap week to sail is the week after Thanksgiving.:confused3 I am just glad there are such things as cheap weeks on DCL, for that I am grateful!!!! :cool1: I sailed Sept 19th 2004 on the Wonder, immediatly AFTER hurrican Ivan and during hurricane Jeanne. We were one of the few cruises that September to be able to get to CC!! We had absolutely picture perfect weather, and unless you knew there was a hurricane out there, you would not have known there was a hurricane out there!!

We booked 12-09-06 and it was very cheep also, figured for the same price and two days at C.C. we would go for the christmas cruise and it was the same price when we booked. Maybe they have gotten very few booking for that time and lowered the price. the first week the 06 dates were out we booked a cat 12 for the 4 of us for 2,400.00. They were the same price then as the sept cruise.

Mum of 2 Pirates,
That's a very good price for 4.
We booked the Sept.16th.06 Costa Maya deck 6 Cat.7 slightly obstructed room # 6634 for 2 adults for $2,596.00 with transfers and insurance for both.

We paid $2466, for the 4 of us with costco cat 12. I went with a 12 knowing we would get upgraded and paid the least amount we could becouse I have never been to wdw eather and am planing on staying 5-7 days before the cruise. If we have to pay airfare we might as well get the most out of it. Mum of 2 pirate: pirate:

We always cruised that week, and it has always been one of the lowest (if not THE lowest) of the year. It just happens to be my twin DD's birthday. Next year, they start Middle School, so our birthday cruising will be ending (otherwise, we would be on THAT cruise).

Last year wasn't good because of Hurricane Jeanne. That was our 5th cruise and the first (and only) that didn't make it to CC. That very same week the previous 4 years have been wonderful!

As I said, if our girls weren't going into Middle School next year, we would be there on this very cruise. We would still cruise at this time even though last year wasn't the best (but I think Disney handled our situation great--the ones coming on after us didn't have as good of an experience, so I realize we were lucky, we didn't have to go to Ft. Lauderdale, we used the regular DCL terminal for both embarking and our early disembarking on Friday night when they shuttled us over to the Dolphin to spend the night as the Disney Magic sailed away to safety away from the Hurricane).
