Why is Target discontinuing Mix Stix?

Does anyone know why Target is getting rid of their mix stix. This was my DD big Christmas present and I'll be really dissapointed if it doesn't work. Will Disney still be making them? Can you get the extra clips and such anywhere else? Thanks for the info.

I have heard people say that they have seen them at Best Buy and Disney Direct. Target tends to rotate their merchandise a lot throughout the year. I don't think they like things on the shelf that isn't a big seller at that time, which is why we all find such wonderful clearance. How many times have I seen my daughter's princess sheets on clearance only to find them in the store again a few months later? At least three. Who knows, they could even bring this line back again next Christmas.

Some posted on another thread that Target was discontinuing the sales of the Mix Sticks because of the shipping delays. I ordered mine from Best Buy.com. It was backordered for two weeks when I placed my order, disneyshopping.com was 4 weeks out at the time (11/30).

I ordered mine in Nov from disneyshopping and it was backordered 6 weeks, last week they said it wouldn't arrive until 1/22 and then low and behold I get another email Mon that it was shipped and it arrived today. Seems cute now I have to figure out how to work it. Its my old person answer to and ipod!!!!!

Same here...

I ordered 2 mix sticks (one silver / one princess) on 12/2 from DisneyShopping.com. The site said 3 weeks to ship...but, it had changed daily from anywhere between 2 weeks to 12 weeks....so, I wasn't too optimistic.

I called customer service last week to see what the status of my order was and the CM told me that the Princess stick would be ready to ship on 12/19, but the silver stick would not be ready to ship until January.

I figured I would have to come up with some type of IOU from Santa, but I also recieved the e-mail on Monday that both sticks had shipped and they are set to arrive at my home tomorrow....WOOHOO!!!!

Thanks! So it seems to be more of a Target thing than a problem with the mix stix. Does anyone have them that has used them? Are they fun and easy to use?

I believe that is what my mother bought dd and we got ours from Limited Too. It is a Disney and all her music is Disney music....

I bought DD 1 for x-mas as well and after reading another thread about problems with downloading i broke it open and went to town.I installed a 1gb SSD card and all seams to work great.

I recieved my DS6's chrome mix stick today. I popped it open and I now have it connected to my laptop.

I have Window's XP and was able to just plug it in and it detected the stick as a removable disk. I was able to use "My Computer" and just copy and pasted songs from my hard drive onto the stick.

I listened to the songs and it sounded pretty good. I'm not an audiophile, but I'm sure the quality will be good enough for my 6 year old.

I haven't tried it yet...but, I did purchase a Kingston 512mb SD card for $19.95 after rebate from Buy.com last week.

Overall....I'm very satisfied with the product for my DS6.

I bought one for my dd from Target, I think in early Nov., and haven't opened it up. I'd love to read the details. My oldest dd has an ipod, and that's all I know (and not much about that, lol! )
