Why is Rose & Crown booked solid on Christmas Eve?

I was not aware that this place was so popular!! They are booked solid all day on Xmas Eve, where most other restaurants in the WS have some availability.

What are we missing out on with this place??

I would imagine that there are a lot of tourists from England at Christmas time and they may want a traditional Christmas Eve Dinner (I am assuming they have one, since it is booked solid). I would imagine if there were more Norwegian tourists at WDW at that time that they would be booked solid at Ashkershush (sp?) as well.

We love Rose and Crown. The food is really good and the atmosphere and cast are wonderful. It is probably booked during that time because of the jolly state of mind the place invokes.

If you have never been, it is surely worth a visit. Not for everyone, but we think it is great.

Probably because its fairly unadventurous food, a candlelight processional restaurant, and it can accommodate large groups (better than say, Coral Reef :lmao:). And well, its Christmas Eve!

We weren't there for Christmas Eve last year, but we were there earlier in the week and I had to do Candlelight Processional packages to get LC & GG reservations because there were so few openings left after that and those were already taken. I had to keep calling for the CP reservations, too, but I finally lucked out.

(For the most part, I doubt the foreign tourists seek out their home cuisine at WS because of its familiarity and authenticity. Even the British food is dumbed down.)

Its Christmas week, it's Christmas Eve and RnC has potential for firework viewing from the restaurant itself.

I'm so confused! How are you guys getting ADRs for Christmas Eve??? I'm staying at the resort, but the website won't let me book past the 20th as of today. I thought I was on the BALL! LOL, apparently not!

If you are a resort guest, you can book at 180+10 (ie: on your 180th day from check-in you can book ADRs for that day and the next 10 days of your visit)

It is a perk of staying on Disney Property. If you have a reservation you can book 180 days out plus 10 days. So for a week long reservation you can book at 180 days out - the first day of your trip, and you can book the other 6 days at the same time. The maximum is 10 day vacation. Fro a longer trip you would need to book the other dining reservations on subsequent days.

If you cancel your reservation your dining reservations are canceled as well.

By the way, R&C may not be completely booked. There are 4 or 5 Epcot restaurants that are holding back most of their ADRs for the CP packages. I remember seeing nothing available at the 10th day out at 6 EST at R&C, Le Cellier, Coral Reef (I think), and Garden Grill (I think). Tutto was pretty scarce too - as if some were being held back.

Does that mean you can only get these ADR's (that are held back) if you book the CP? That stinks for us~we have zero interest in seeing the CP.

I don't think so. I just think they weren't prepared for what/how many they needed for CP so they just held the entire lot.

I just read another thread that they have just released the Dec non-CP spots that haven't been available.

:worship: Thank you so much! Because of you, I just rechecked the website and snagged a 12 noon ADR for Rose & Crown on Christmas Eve!! Thank you again!:flower3:

Yeah, I went and grabbed a lunch at le cellier for the 4th that hadn't been available.

it's not that incredibly popular. It's just that this restaurant has the ultimate view of the fireworks at night and everybody wants to see them on Christmas eve.

If you cancel your reservation your dining reservations are canceled as well.

This is not the case, even if you used the resort reservation to book the dining. The systems are separate. If you have to cancel the resort reservation, you must also cancel the dining reservations separately.
