Well, I wonder how many people who have trouble are calling at the exact 90-day mark at opening bell. There is no food at WDW that would tempt me to set the alarm to wake up early to call for a reservation, but for some, there obviously is.
Plus, party size does seem to matter, since they have, like 2 tables for 2 and like 30 tables for 4.

I have no problem waking up at opening bell and it's 4 AM for me. It's something that takes only a couple of minutes, I can just go back to sleep. I'm just going to be mad to have to do this when I am in Disneyland for our WDW trip.
Maybe it depends on your party size, I called in December for early March reservations for a party of 5, the only night out of 8 that I could get a dinner reservation for was an early 415 on a Thursday.
I have a party of 6 and can only visit during peak times (President week or summer vacation) so its very very difficult for us. In fact, we have only been able to get a lunch there once in the 6 years we have been going.
I just reserved for a party of three next week... at lunch. The only problem is that there are only two of us. They had no tables for two. I feel so guilty.
So if the two of us show up for our ADR for 3 will they turn us away?
