I can book Ohana for 5 people, but can't get a table for 4 people?? !!!!! So frustrating!!! Just needed to vent................ Same thing happened last year at Kona. Coudn't get ressie for 2, but could for 3.

Probably because they have a larger table available, and would rather just seat you at a 4-top, but one is not available. The whole Disney ADR system is a bit wierd.

I know it's crazy. We are going in March (during the heart of Spring Break season) with 4 adults and 2 kids. I was able to book Le Cellier for lunch, Captain's Grille (I know that is an easy one, but still), Crystal Palace before park opening, 50's Prime time for dinner, and Akershus breakfast before park opening. When I was making my ADRs for our past December trip I was on the phone everyday AND on the online dining site trying to get Le Cellier and a couple of other places....and we were just 2 adults and 2 kids. It was probably because of free dining but still it is still nuts.

Try being a solo diner. There have been times, I couldn't get a table for one, but could get one for two. I'd go ahead and book and when I checked in, they'd sometimes seat me at a table for four.:confused3

I know - this is a really frustrating one. Obviously you would think that parties of one or two would be seated at the same size table - so why can you book for two but not for one? I just book for two, and tell them it's only one when I show up. I've always been put at a two top.

Maybe we need to start a thread for solo diners who want to share their "table for two" ADR's . . . .

It seems to be the signature restaurants that don't like to book tables for one. Funny thing is, last fall I tried several times to get a table for one at Jiko and couldn't, so finally booked a table for two. When I arrived I was seated at one of those tables for four by the window. The same thing happened at Coral Reef though. No table for one, so booked a table for two, and round up seated at a table for four.:confused3 Same thing happens almost every time I go to Rose & Crown. Now I can usually get a reservation for one there, but I have always been seated at a four topper when I arrive. I've never been seated at a table for one or two there, always a four topper.

Same here, I just booked for 6 and we have 4.

Glad I'm not the only one "playing the system"

Is this okay to do? I haven't been able to get a reservation for 4 either, but I can for 5 :confused3 I feel like I'm "cheating".

:worship: Maybe this should turn into a support thread! I have also "played the system." I have felt guilty for doing so, but it is strange how it works sometimes.

I just found out that I am going to Orlando on business in late March. My DW thought it would be fun to tag along and hit the parks for a quick two days. She also challenged me to get a reservation at La Cellier. I tried for two days with no luck. I kept trying a party of two and nothing. Then I tried a party of three - boom! - reservation. :cool1:

I did this back in December when our party of four went and we wanted to add a last minute ADR to Sci Fi. Nothing for a party of 4, but was able to book a party of 5. Like previous poster said, just say someone couldn't come.

Ack! Don't quote me!!! I don't wanna get in trouble.... :lmao:

In all seriousness, last year I actually had a CM on the phone suggest this to me as an option! I was trying to make ressies for weeks, and I let her know I was sooo sad I couldn't get them. So she offered "well, if you were to have FIVE in your party, they might be able to accommodate you..." and then said "If you have five now, that could always change the day of and you could just forget to call and adjust your res"... LMAO... so... the CM MADE ME DO IT! :rotfl:

Just sayin, no hate, yo!

After reading this post I realized there could be a chance of me grabbing an earlier ADR for Ohana cause I got a crappy 8:50 spot for my party of 4... I added an extra adult and :wizard: There it was... 4 diffrent times earlier all between 6-8pm... Craziness!!! Im seriously thinking about changing my time or just showing up around 8pm...

That is so funny that you said that. I just got off Disney dining because I wanted to make a O'hana dinner ADR for our last night for our upcoming March trip. I could not find anything for our party of 4, but then decided that I would try on our arrival day when we have 6 people with us (ILs are joining us for most of our stay and leaving a day before us), and VOILA, there were 2 that popped up. I could of chose from a 6:20pm or 8:10pm....I chose 8:10pm hoping we could get a glimpse of Wishes either while we are eating or on the Poly beach after we eat. I am so excited because I have been wanting to try O'hana for dinner and never could get an ADR for it :cool1:

Im gonna try 1st thing in the morning... It was buggin me all day at work... I was askin co workers what they thought... LOL ... Like they even cared!!! But I feel bad for fibbin but 8:10 is better then 8:50... Gonna even hold out for a seat by the window!

So funny, I know it's been mentioned on the boards before but I didn't think/remember to try it for my upcoming trip (next week, just booked 2 weeks ago). No luck for me but kinda fun trying and holding my breath in anticipation for a confirmation number. :rotfl:

Holy cow, what a good idea. I've been searching for a Le Cellier res for our last day, and now I have it, with two ghost people!

i tried to book 50s for my party of 3 and it kept coming up that our party would be separated and we would be seated at more then 1 table...um no thanks not taking a chance. Tried to book for 4 people viola no problem at all :confused3 i ended up booking it.
We had a adr for 7 people at CP before the park opened and the other family bailed on us, i felt horrible but it wasnt a problem, we were seated at a 4 top for the 4 in our family. Nobody had an issue with that.
